The people in Africa are suffering at a much higher level then the poor in America. We do need to help our own, but the african people suffer much more then our own. One does not have to exclude the other. There is enough for eveyone

I agree. There is no reason why anyone in the U.S. should be hungry, homeless or without basic medical care. No one here should be without mental health assistance, if needed; however, almost all the States' funding has been cut and people have been put on the streets. Veterans are waiting YEARS to get treatment for basic care. There are few after school program anymore. Teachers are barely making enough money to survive. Seniors are being forced to choose between medication and food and on and on.
How can the U.S. clean the speck in anybody else's eye?
Edited to add: I'm not against helping other countries, but not at the exclusion of our own.

The Gov does take care of kids. Show me numbers. Show me numbers of how many children starved to death. Food stamps, Gov aid, Section 8, school lunches, unemployment, medicare, medicaid, and the list goes on. The people who suffer here have been given every chance they can have. If they turn it away, or screw up the chance they are given then it is their responsibility. The money send to forgien aid is to help people who have no other substence possible. We do pleanty for our own people, and we still have enough money to make all the previous wealthy people of the world blush, we can help with others.

Let me tell you the truth,it is all about you given and not your country.God knows all things and He said the poor will always be with you and that you should help the way you can.It is your readiness to give that matters and not the amount involved.Anyone who knows how to do good but does not do it sins.God searches our hearts and if you stand before Him He will not ask what America gave to Africa but what did you give to the poor?

We need to start helping those in our own county first. I am not saying that people elsewhere do not need help, but to continue to be the country we are supposed to be, start at home.
There is no hype or money in helping those in the US. Not media coverage. There is in helping other countries.
