Do you agree with the premise of John Lennons song "Imagine"??.Sometimes I get upset that humanity has not yet evolved beyond all this religious B.S. Look at all the problems and fighting that is going on over religion in the world!

That it's a Friday night, and I'm home alone with a bottle of tequila and orange juice, lurking on Y!A?

And that the fundies still don't make any more sense now than when I was sober?

:-D Have a Tequila Sunrise on me...

why do Christians speak of Jews as if they are different than a born again believer? If a Gentile is transformed in to a Jew (one that is a follower of Jesus, of course)...what exactly are we looking at in prophecies concerning God's people?

I think that it's very likely that the vast majority of Christians have not read the entire Bible, and attempted to interpret it on their own. Instead, they rely on priests and organized religion as a whole to tell them what to make of it. This is an honest attempt at personal understanding of religion, however I am curious as to whether it is an honest mistake as well. Humans (even priests) are vulnerable to their own biases which they may pass on through their teachings whether they mean to or not. If the Bible is the way, then why not learn it in the most direct way, avoiding any possible mistakes by other humans?

In relation to this... Why believe something just because a religious person tells you to? Shouldn't you discover it yourself? This goes for all beliefs of the church. Sometimes it worries me that people mindlessly follow. I think that questioning even the most basic notions is healthy to strengthen belief, (or discover justified disbelief).

Thoughts?

These people in that part of the world have been fighting forever. Just seems unnatural to be a part of it. Yes violence is in their nature.

Israel vs Palestinian Moslems -- Catholics vs Protestants historically throughout Europe - and until recently in Ireland - Sunni vs Shia in Iraq - and recently Greek Orthodox deacons vs Armenian priests in the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem. It seems the Middle East and its various Gods have much to answer for? Secular societies seem the only peaceful ones!

As posted before, I hit my wife when she questioned me after a night out with some of my colleagues over a week ago. I am a dentist, practice owner ...educated, a professional. I am not some thug out on the street that takes pleasure in abusing his spouse. I feel horrible. I did right away. I don't have much time with my business and patients, and I wanted to resolve this on my own so our 2 children didn't get involved. I am having a very difficult time convincing my wife to trust me. She has moved back home from her sisters finally, but things are so different and she seems so distant. What can I do?

if someone is constantly snooping in your business or eavesdropping on your conversations, would you consider it to be rude and/or disrespectful? Would you be able to continue to be friends with the person for doing that?

"My feelings as a Christian points me to my Lord and Savior as a fighter. It points me to the man who once in loneliness, surrounded by a few followers, recognized these Jews for what they were and summoned men to fight against them and who, God's truth! was greatest not as a sufferer but as a fighter. In boundless love as a Christian and as a man I read through the passage which tells us how the Lord at last rose in His might and seized the scourge to drive out of the Temple the brood of vipers and adders. How terrific was His fight for the world against the Jewish poison. To-day, after two thousand years, with deepest emotion I recognize more profoundly than ever before the fact that it was for this that He had to shed His blood upon the Cross. As a Christian I have no duty to allow myself to be cheated, but I have the duty to be a fighter for truth and justice...

Scientists: The greatest mind of science, Einstein believed everything was related.

If I doubt my existence, illogical or logical, I'm still part of the equation of life. Perhaps I know something you are missing. Help me, help you.

life / reality = 0
