A woman in my town had to have an emergency C-section. Her husband and her mother were there. Her husband and she were Jehova's Witnesses, and her mother is Catholic. During the C-section she started hemmoraging and she passed out. The doctors told her husband she needed a blood transfusion to save her life. Of course her mother said to give it to her, but it was up to the husband, who stated that JW's dont believe in blood transfusions and she couldn't have one. They tried other things, but told the husband again that she needed the transfusuion or she would die, but he stood by his beliefs. Well she ended up dying on the table, never meeting her baby. Her parents are very very upset over this obviously too. Now this of course has sparked a lot of conversation around town and I was wondering why blood transfusions are prohibited, even in cases like this. I just cant imagine that God wouldn't want a baby to be raised by his/her mom. Any insight and/or thoughts on this would be great.

I bought it used. Should I just use it like it is, or do something to get rid of any energies the last owner may have left in it?

My Christian husband is completely creeped out that I own a used tarot deck ("you don't know where that's been, or what it's done" like a deck of cards can kill somebody)

"Global warming will bring hurricanes far more severe than Katrina and will cause natural climate-control mechanisms to go wrong. Rising temperatures will lower crop yields in many of the world’s poorest countries. The immense tensions brought about by such catastrophes will occur in a time of extremism, religious belligerence and suicidal terrorism."

Question is about the phrase "immense tensions". I would like to know the word "tensions" refers to people's emotional or nervous state or some conditions in which there are tensions.

1. Personal subject reference, as in "her tension is building up" or 2. an objective condition as in "the event created a lot of tensions". Thanks a lot in advance.

I am a model, and often I encounter alot of hostility amongst other females! I know this is natural for us girlies.I have lost alot of friends from i started modelling The hairdressers were I normally go,(only coz they are best in town) they are very frosty and icy to me, stuck up!. They snigger at each other, and i know it is directed at me. I have had my hair darkened months ago to stop damage from bleach. I wanted a few highlights for xmas. They refused, sniggered and said it would break off.Yet their hair is worse bleached than mine.I wouldn't have minded, but they made sure the whole salon heard! My friend done it for me, and everyone reckons my hair is not too brittle, getting healthy. I can't get over how in the salon they snarled at me, pointed out fluff on my jacket when i sat down. Laughed to each other and practically put me out!! What does this mean??

I noticed when reading Awake Magazine, a Christian magazine by Jehovah's Witnesses, that in no article that I could find in the magazine does it ever say that Jesus is the only way to salvation. I was wondering why this is? Is it because this magazine is directed to people who are already Christians, i.e. that it would be redundant to tell a Christian that according to a Christian faith, the only way to be saved is through Christ being they already are aware of this and believe it?

Write as many as you can without looking. Try to put them in order.

They are recorded in Exodus 20:3-17.

"I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things." (Isaiah 45:7)

"Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? Shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?" (Amos 3:6)

"Out of the mouth of the most High proceedeth not evil and good?" (Lamentations 3:38)

I know this has been asked before, but I haven't seen it in the way that I'm proposing...

God created the sword. In Genesis, to prevent Adam and Eve from re-entering the Garden of Eden, Jehovah placed fiery swords. Why would an all-knowing God who obviously would know the outcome of misuse and abuse of such an object create it in the first place? In the same way of thinking, God created Satan knowing that he would disobey. If you say he did not know--then you just admitted God is not omnipotent and all-knowing. Why then would God create Satan in the first place?

To be continued...

Priest sex abuse scandal
Marriage laws
Priestly celibacy

What comes down to earth for me is that I feel like I get "nothing" out of going to church. The priests dont give very good sermons in my opinion and they never remember any of their parishioners
