Just as darkness is the absence of light, and not a thing of itself, evil is the absence of virtue, and not a thing of itself.
There is a Force (not unlike that mentioned in Star Wars) that permeates the Universe, but it is not either evil or good. It is what people use it for. I have tried to explain this so many times, and always feel I am inevitably misunderstood. Let's just say that if you imagine yourself a Jedi and use the images and metaphors of the Star Wars series, you will probably find the real Force because it is in fact similar. But not the same.

I don't believe in the Christian Satan, but I do believe in evil. An evil force or maybe Chaos. I don't really know, but I have felt the presence of evil and it is not a good feeling.

There are all kinds of forces that are measurable and can be tested by anyone. Evil is not one of those. Evil is subjective, whereas gravity is objective.

Good and Evil? What primative terms! There is not good and evil, only positive and negatives. These forces are Energies that effect our lives and are given off by all things - living, dead and inanimate. Karma also has a profound impact on our lives, as it has come from many lifetimes.

These forces you ask about...I believe you might be referring to the forces of good and evil...yes? Both are within all of us...our nature is to move toward one and away from the other.

Sure there are forces. You can even calculate the power of them using this simple formula: F=ma.
