I'm going on a mission trip this summer and as I'm receiving donations, I'm wondering if I should tithe them. I'm open to whatever answers anyone may provide. Thanks! =)

Sorry, I guess "tithe" has the wrong implications. What I'm getting at is if anyone thinks it's improper or proper to give to my church (however much God leads me to give, if any) out of money given to me.

Unless you're a Jewish farmer living under the law, you are not obligated to tithe.

However, to address your question, you should not give out of the proceeds of what is given to you for your trip. The people who gave that money to you did so with the understanding that it was supporting your trip, not your church. It would be inappropriate for you to use it for any purpose other than that for which you requested it.

Titheing a certain amount is no longer necessary. Give according to your means.
CERTAIN religious organizations insist on taxing their members one-tenth (or tithe) of their annual income for support of their respective church systems. It is said that such demands are in accord with the tithing laws given to ancient Israel.
Then came Jesus and the time for the ending of the old Law covenant. Born under that Law, while it was still in force, Jesus upheld and fulfilled every part of it, including its tithing provisions. However, his only commendation of tithing was a sort of left-handed one aimed at the formalistic and hypocritical tithe-paying religionists.—Matt. 23:23, NW.

Search as you may you will not find Jesus recommending or commending tithing for his followers. When Jesus sent out his apostles and disciples to do missionary work from house to house and city to city, even unto the ends of the world, he made no provisions for their support through tithing. (Matt. 10:1-42; 28:19, 20; Luke 9:1-10; 10:1-17; Acts 1:8) Jesus came to fulfill and put an end to the Law covenant and all of its ordinances .

What sort of mission?

Maybe you should wait until AFTER this mission, and see what you have left over.

Also, where did you get the idea you should tithe at all to a church? It is unbiblical to tithe of money and give it to a church.

I sure hope this is not a church missionary thing you are going on, seeing as you are ignorant on something as simple as this.

So you are going to tithe from donations given to you to go on a mission? Sounds ludicrous to me, but I think you could have a career in the Department of Treasury.

Tithing is between you and God and what he calls you to do. I would normally say no, but you need to ask God and not me.

No, these are being given to you for a specific purpose. You tithe what you earn, not what you are given.
