Because they are "religions of peace" in NAME only. This is a directive from God. Jesus said anyone could identify the true religion of his by the love among the brothers & sisters all over the world. (John 13:35)
This is true and can be seen with the only ones obeying this command. Certainly none of the religions mentioned in the question.

secular societies like Hitler's Germany, Stalin's Russia, Mao's China, Pol Pot's Cambodia, Idi Amin's Uganda and Kim Jong-il's North Korea don't seem particularly peacefull to me and statisically have cause more death, destruction and misery than all the religious conflicts put together.
However to judge a religious conflict fairly one should examine the teaching and example of it's founder and see if it's so called followers are doing as their leader did or if they are bad examples of supposed followers of that belief.

I wish I could give you a concrete answer to that. I feel the same way. I can't claim that secular societies would be perfect, or absolutely peaceful, but I have to think that religion has been one of the greatest, if not the greatest causes of war. Here's a lyric/quote to ponder, from the band "311". "How could something well guided turn out to be divisive?"

It is not the religions ,it is the corrupt men who grab power in them.Man will always fail you. God will not.
By secular societies you must mean the godless Soviets and Mao Red Chinese and Cambodians who together have murdered multi-millions of people.Stalin,Mao and Pol Pot have a special "secular" spot in Hell.

Karl Marx used a reduced class model to describe internal stress's in class conflict, not that I disagree with that but one continues to wonder at our retarded rate towards quality class consciouness. A minute ago I was reviewing Erick Ericksons psycho-social development theory and discovered an interesting way to conceptualize class differently: (syntonic v dystonic)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erick_Erickson
The positive and negative outcomes of each stage in human psychosocial development:
'1. *Trust v Mistrust - Oral + Infant / mother / feeding and being comforted, teething, sleeping ~ Hope and Drive > Sensory Distortion / Withdrawal
2. *Autonomy v Shame & Doubt - Anal + Toddler / parents / bodily functions, toilet training, muscular control, walking ~ Willpower and Self-Control > Impulsivity / Compulsion
3. *Initiative v Guilt - Phallic + Preschool / family / exploration and discovery, adventure and play ~ Purpose and Direction > Ruthlessness / Inhibition
4. *Competency v Inferiority - Latency + Schoolchild / school, teachers, friends, neighborhood / achievement and accomplishment ~ Competence and Method > Narrow Virtuosity / Inertia
5. *Identity v Role Confusion - Puberty and Genitality + Adolescent / peers, groups, influences / resolving identity and direction, becoming a grown-up ~ Fidelity and Devotion > Fanaticism / Repudiation
6. *Intimacy v Isolation - (Genitality) + Young adult / lovers, friends, work connections / intimate relationships, work and social life ~ Love and Affiliation > Promiscuity / Exclusivity
7. *Generativity v Stagnation + Mid-adult / children, community / 'giving back', helping, contributing ~ Care and Production > Overextension / Rejectivity
8. *Integrity v Despair + Late adult / society, the world, life / meaning and purpose, life achievements ~ Wisdom and Renunciation > Presumption / Disdain Late adulthood is dominated by the multiplicity of social change which inevitably takes place during this stage of life. The loss of a marital partner, developments of unfamiliar single hood, ever changing relationships, dependent living situations and limited activities have a huge impact on the physical and psychological well being of an individual in the late adulthood stage. The degree to which an individual successfully navigated through his or her prior seven stages of life determines how the final stage is piloted. '
Generally the ebb and flow from generation to generation for the ratio of syntonic to dystonic in the general population is determinant for quality class consciousness. The dystonic mass as a matter of course retard the progress in the syntonic mass. I do not believe the syntonic and dystonic masses overlap definitively for the proletariat and bourgeoisie masses.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ego-syntonic
'Personality disorders are defined by the American Psychiatric Association (APA) as "an enduring pattern of inner experience and behavior that deviates markedly from the expectations of the culture of the individual who exhibits it". [1] These patterns, as noted, are inflexible and pervasive across many situations, due in large part to the fact that such behavior is ego-syntonic (i.e., the patterns are consistent with the ego integrity of the individual), and therefore, perceived to be appropriate by that individual. The onset of these patterns of behavior can typically be traced back to the beginning of adulthood, and, in rare instances, early adolescence. [1]
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egodystonic
Egodystonic is a psychological term referring to behaviors, (e.g., dreams, impulses, compulsions, desires, etc.), that are in conflict, or dissonant, with the needs and goals of the ego, or, further, in conflict with a person's ideal self-image.
The concept is studied in detail in abnormal psychology, and is the opposite of egosyntonic. Obessive compulsive disorder is considered to be an ego-dystonic disorder, as the thoughts and compulsions experienced or expressed are often not consistent with the individual's self-perception, causing extreme distress.[citation needed]'
Apparently it is impossible to know where such human experiences as shame, guilt, inferiority fall within these two classifications. I should think egodystonic would be the correct label for such experiences. If that is true, then the group that retards is the opposite of what I have stated.
