Do you think it is rejecting God or suicide? Suicide to me seems like it would be kind of difficult to repent. But the Bible says it is the other.

There was an article in the Washington Post today about a guy in Louisiana who bilked his friends and family out of more than $800,000. He claimed that his wife was a secret agent who could arrange to have spy satellites diagnose their medical problems; then, in exchange for payment, she'd have secret agents administer medicine to them while they slept.

Hmmm...

A guy who claims to have connections to someone who watches them from the sky, and knows everything about them...and if you just pay tribute to him, will come "like a thief in the night" to cure all your ills....

This all sounds so familiar, but I can't quite put my finger on it....

Every time I go to the mall there are these people selling lotions and Dead Sea products and they are super pushy. If you are walking by they try to physically guide you over so that they can buff your nails or rub lotion on your hands. Maybe they are instructed to accost customers by their managers, but it irritates the hell out of me. If I wanted lotion, I know where to find some. Now, I know it is just their job, but I wouldn't work at a job that forced me to bother shoppers. What are your opinions on this?

Let me clarify- Not all kiosk people are like this, not even most. I am just annoyed with the ones that pester shoppers.

is it not just as likely that if there is one god there is many gods? why has the idea of just one taken off. If one can just be there with no explanation then why not an infinite number of gods?

This year is 2007, which is technically speaking 2007 years after the death of Christ. From that point of view, our calendar system has it's basis on religion. So should a non-religious calendaring system be implemented?

I know it's a long time away, but I'm turning 15 in June. Any ideas for a birthday party? I want it to be a lot of fun, but I don't want it to be super costly, I feel guilty asking my parents for expensive things like that. Thanks for your help!

Men or women.....are you making holiday decorations, cards, gifts? I am totally not crafty in that way (yes, I can be crafty in other ways, 'nuff said). I applaud those who have an artful eye and skilled hands. So, whatcha makin'?

Yes, we all know it's the most important meal of the day. I can't eat until I've been up for a few hours. These days I'm trying to behave myself, so I had some cinnamon and spice oat meal once I got to the office. What about you - eat or skip it?

Then shouldn't it be up to the individual churches, and not the State to define it? What if there was a church or religious group that approved of, and practiced Gay Marriage? Would a ban on Gay Marriage violate their Freedom of Religion? Would it violate the Separation of Church and State? And, if we allow the State to tell churches what they can and can't do, then is the First Amendment still valid?

Creationists and "Intelligent Design" theorists claim that the odds of life having evolved as it has on earth is so great that it could not possibly be random. Yes, the odds are astronomical, but only if you were trying to PREDICT IN ADVANCE how life would evolve.

Just like you could not possibly predict in advance how a deck of cards would shuffle, they have to shuffle in SOME order (just as life had to evolve in SOME order) and just because the odds of that particular shuffle was 8.06582E+67:1, we don't ascribe it to god.

If all six billion humans shuffled one standard deck of cards every second, it would take 4.26276E+50 years to achieve every possible shuffle; and that assumes no duplicate shuffles.

So just because the odds of any particular event happening are vanishingly small, it is ignorant to assume that divine intervention had anything to do with it.

What constitutes a "cult" in your opinion? Is Mormonism a cult? Scientology? Islam? Paganism? Atheism? Christianity? Is a cult something evil, good, or neither? Are all religions cults, or just certain religions? Are you a member of a religion that frequently gets labeled as a Cult? How does that make you feel, and how do you answer it?

I am asking this out of respect of all religions.

Last night i took a job bartending.
Employees came in got smashed...climbed on the bar and simulated having sex with each other while men watched and took pictures?!?! Screaming and calling each other bit**es and ni**a's. Ewww...

They left the bar a mess and the owners watched and participated!!

I am not a prude and love a fun night out ( dancing and drinking) ...but where is the line? Why do women seek this kind of attention. I get called "stuck up" when i object to this behavior. Why?!?!

Women ...how can we move past this ?

Why would anyone wish to celebrate a day when the earth is shrouded in darkness the longest? According to wikipedia, Swiss kings would sacrifice male slaves, other groups would gather together to ‘lay hands on’ and make pledges, with wild boars as witness, just before they butchered the beast, then they enjoyed eating its flesh while its head adorned the table. And these where the ‘civilized’ functions for this ‘holy day’ Well, I guess that is why they wanted as much darkness as possible. Perversions love to hide among the shadows. What a contrast when compared to the Birth of our Lord, when the Light of the WORLD is celebrated

All this talk about Romney being just a mormon. You got to be kidding! A cult is a cult! It matters not if Mitt Romney or Joe Louis was apart of it, it is still a cult. We are all motivated by our beliefs be in God or in self. I do not want ANYONE leading me with cultic ideologies. It is impossible to separate a person from his/her beliefs, impossible. It is not about having several wives, most mormons do not practice that doctrine. However, it is still a viable practice. To me, it is what mormonism is REALLY all about that disallows me to vote for him. Would you vote for Jim Jones if he was running or Rev Moon? A faulty belief is a faulty belief. It is what it is. Romney has and always will guide his life based on his beliefs. Well, he can do so at will but not in D.C. Romney speeches! I am not more move with his physical appearance than I would be if he was Peewee Herman. No more extremists in the White House!! "God bless America." Well, He does not bless cults!!
