Jesus said :
Matthew 6:24
No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.

.. You can't serve 2 masters.... Do you think President who is religious can server 2 masters " People of this country" and "god" ?

my argument
Being rational is having everything based on evidence and judging in a logical way.
1) lets assume God doesn't exist. A watch is a complex design and the watch has a designer.
2) All complex designs in this world has an designer except nature (assuming God doesn't exist) things such as computers, televisions, babies, my homework, and ect.
3) Nature and life is a complex design (atoms, molecules, cells, organs, and ect).
4) There is no absoulte proof of what created life. Most are all theories.
5) Judging from my limited knowledge and my own observation of intelligent works of design that I know are created by an designer, I should believe it is highly likely nature and life has a designer.
From this I believe a rational person should believe in God. If a person does not base his beliefs on experiences from his own observations and derive an answer from his current knowledge than he is irrational. This does not prove if God is good or bad.

I've heard people of all faiths say that they've felt their God's presence and that's how they of know of God's existence.

Is that a sign of insecurity? The need to feel a supernatural presence in order to live.

In my opinion, it is a sign that those people are unable to live a happy life by themselves and need the reassurance to get through life.

if you say that you don't have proof then read this
Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."
i'm just curious if anyone has well thought out answer other than 'where's the proof?'

When I ask why people believe in God on Y!A, many religious people say that they have just felt God's presence, therefore he must exist. But how does one "feel God's presence?" I would argue that this is some sort of intrinsic fault in humans that are too weak and therefore they need to believe in a higher power. Any other thoughts?

It is a sad thing. We have killed almost 50,000,000 babies since Roe vs. Wade. That is more people (who could have had futures. Could have been the next Einstein, Bill Gates, etc etc) than were killed in all of the wars ever fought put together. Take a look inside an abortion death camp. http://jesus-is-savior.com/Evils%20in%20America/Abortion%20is%20Murder/death_camp.htm

Why do we continue to condone such evil? Our mothers chose to let US live, so why do we deny others the right to live?
