I've heard people of all faiths say that they've felt their God's presence and that's how they of know of God's existence.
Is that a sign of insecurity? The need to feel a supernatural presence in order to live.
In my opinion, it is a sign that those people are unable to live a happy life by themselves and need the reassurance to get through life.

Isaiah-Thanks for proving my point
You feel that the most secure place of the world is in the presence of an unproven figure, which another answerer pointed to as being a delusion
That is insecurity sir.

Angel-I'm not trying to ridicule, I'm just asking a question.
If people wish to feel presence of God, that is fine but I feel that it is an insecure behaviour. To put all faith in a delusion, and follow an unproven entity is not a logical act and someone secure in their life would not feel the need for such assurances.

Feeling the presence of foreign entities contacting, possessing or passing through your body is a somatic delusion. This is not changed by naming the entity "God".

This is definitely a warning dream. There is something that you are doing that needs to stop. You know what that is. The stairs are a clear message to repent. Repent means to go back up to the top, to the highest way of living. 'Pent' like penthouse is the top house. to REpent is to go back to where you should be. If you don't, there will be serious consequences. Heed this dream well. If you are not a Christian, the bible says 'if you CONFESS with your mouth that Jesus is Lord (which means 'owner') and BELIEVE in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will will be saved'. If you say that, then confess your sins to Jesus and ask for his forgiveness, and repent i.e. change your behaviour so you don't do it again, or don't do it to begin with, you will be forgiven and kept safe. If there is nothing that you know of, then still give yourself to Jesus and ask him to ensure that you don't take a wrong path in the future. Honestly? If I had this dream, I would be on my face on the floor before God, instantly. God loves, loves, loves, loves, loves you and only warns you to keep you safe. EDIT: I'll add to this just in case. the fact that you actually screamed indicates a severe disturbance. It could be a reaction to a chemical you have ingested. I paste below some info I often give people who are suffering anxiety, weird dreams and visions etc. It's not very well put together but it's all good information. Are you on any new medication? This includes scripted medication and all over-the-counter medications, anti-fungal creams, shampoos, moisturisers, absolutely EVERYTHING you put on or take into your body. The number of chemicals we take in and are subjected to is amazing. New foodstuffs or antacids etc. ALL are suspect. Stop all caffeine consumption including tea, coffee, chocolate. Guarna is also pure caffeine and in a number of these energy drinks. Caffeine causes anxiety, depression and thought and sleep disorders. Get yourself a hypoallergenic body wash and use it for everything including your hair. Don't use conditioners or moisturisers you leave on your hair, if you are chemically sensitive all these things can affect your nervous system. Stop using toothpaste and mouthwash for a time, they have fluoride in them which is deadly poison. This is actually very easy, just use a little salt to clean your teeth, much better for you and equally as effective. Use filtered water if at all possible. If you have one totally CLEAN day, you will see the difference. Be careful with coming off caffeine if you've been on it a long time. It is accumulative and highly addictive so you will get a monster headache if you come off it too fast. Also Google any medication you are on with 'side effects' after it. All medications can have side effects, even over the counter medications and antibiotics eg Flagyl has horrible side effects and can give you panic attacks etc. Don’t ever take medication unless you have a life threatening brain infection or something. Although some studies have shown that antidepressants can help somewhat with severe endogenous depression, the theory behind antidepressants is wrong. SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) for instance are for stopping the reuptake of serotonin once it has been released by the nerve cells on the premise that there is not enough serotonin in the system. However when you take SSRIs, the body registers that there is too much serotonin in the body and cuts productions CAUSING the condition that the drug companies purport SSRIs cure. The side-effects from anti-depressants can be horrendous. Of course, don’t touch alcohol or cannabis. Cannabis is the cause of the vast majority of admissions into psychiatric wards – ask any psychiatrist. Also, go on a NO GRAIN diet. That is ALL grain including rice and ‘processed corn like corn chips’ and every product that contains any grain. It is well documented that grain causes anxiety and depression and lots of other problems. We are loaded down every day with grain products (and whole grain is no exception) when grain, and especially processed grain which converts to sugar and thus fat), and it is a very unnatural food. Go on a no grain diet and watch your anxiety melt away. There are many who insist on a no grain, no dairy, not sugar diet which is the best one of all. Just eat meat, chicken, fish, vegetables, nuts and a little fruit. Brilliant and you will lose weight and not be one bit hungry. Grain and sugar MAKE you hungry.

No it is not. Knowing God's presence is the most amazing thing- I do not feel a need to feel a supernatural presence- I have a need to KNOW GOD. If you ever experience it you will never want to be without Him again. Happiness by the way, only comes with happenings- JOY comes with Christ. A total difference.

Feeling His presence is like having another person put their arms around you and tell you that they love you. He lets us experience His presence to let us feel His love for us. His presence comes because we are in submission to Him. I felt His presence right before I became a Christian and I felt like melting butter. It was so wonderful nothing like it in this world.

In my opinion, folks who continue to ridicule Christians, asking questions like this one, are revealing their own insecurity.
If knowing God makes these people happy, why should you have a problem with that?
If you have achieved a happy life, shouldn't you be able to be happy for others who have found their own happiness?
You are entitled to your opinion, of course...
As I am entitled to mine.

No. It is a sign of security. The security that you are one of God own.
Romans 8:11
But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;

Happy life? Don't think yours will always remain the same (though, I do wish it would be happy always), but life is not life if is not in-secure, dangerious every now and then.
Life is always full of ups and downs, which is a test from God.

God's presence is unmistakable and beautiful. You are amazed, afraid, LOVED, repentant but most of all humbled. If you have never experienced that, I'm sure that it would be hard to understand the rest of us that have. I hope that all of that changes for you.
