Kind of curious about this and not sure it is true. I know Catholics claim the deuterocanonicals belong in the Bible based upon the Septuagint. It is said the deutero's where in there and that was the version of the OT used by Jesus so therefore they belong in the Bible. However I read some of the books of Esdras were left out and so was the prayer of Manasseh. Is this the case? If it is doesn't it weaken the claim that the other deutero's belong because they are in the Septuagint?

Our group has candies/snacks in our area all the time. We noticed that one guy from the other team come in and take a candy almost everyday. Should we confront him in person and tell him to stop? Should we send him a email? What would be the best way to resolve this problem without offending him?

It doesn't make sense to ask someone to believe something without proof, then punish them for not believing it. Shouldn't we then believe any unprovable thing that anyone tells us just in case?

What was it about the persecution of the Christians or the Christians at all that caused many to convert? What was it about them that attracted others so much that they were willing to suffer for it?

I'm 24 but I have never had a boyfriend, ever. I'm extremely closeted so I have never step foot in a gay bar or club. I do get asked out by girls every now and then, so I know my looks aren't a disadvantage.

I go to the gym a lot and I often exchange glances with guys I see there, but I don't have the courage to approach any of them.

Anyways, where can I go to meet other gay guys?

I'm watching the news at the moment and there's a portion of the program devoted to the Golden Compass. Now this in itself is not unusual.

The thing that is unusual is that this is happening in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Not is it just unusual, its rather shocking since Canadians don't generally behave so stupidly.

Apparently the book has been pulled from the libraries of Catholic schools in the city that didn't have a problem with displaying the books until the movies came out and a handful of Christians suddenly decided to freak out about it when the books had been part of the libraries since 1995 and they didn't complain before the movie came out.

What do you think of this?

I find it quite despicable. I also think its censorship and against Canadian law.

Is your faith so weak that it can't survive books written as entertainment?

Remember when you had a close shave with some danger? Is it luck? Coincidence? Or God's timely intervention?

Some verses to consider...

"A thousand may fall at your side,
And ten thousand at your right hand;
But it shall not come near you."
(Psalm 91:7)

"I returned and saw under the sun that -
The race is not to the swift,
Nor the battle to the wise,
Nor riches to men of understanding,
Nor favour to men of skill;
But time and chance happen to them all."
(Ecclesiastes 9:11)

Do you ever get a feeling a grid, or a net or a 'web' of some sort surrounds us? I have woken up since late 2003 from deep sleep, and my eyes attempting to focus on blank walls in the dark...I'd catch glimpses of intricate grid patterns and web designs...much like a really elaborate spider's web before the dew or an insect ruins it.

Look, I know I am a looney toon, and I don't need to be humored because I am aware of that much. But please, if anyone has seen it too, do you know what it is? Also, if it is just a normal optical phenomena, then what is it? I discussed this at length with my opthamologist and she just about fell out the boat laughing at me...but I have above perfect sight. In my heart though, I know it's something deeper and it's more.

Snow White

If I had a quarter
I would throw it in a well
I'd wish with eyes closed tightly
Just to breathe in your sweet smell
I lay on gravel sidewalks
Watching people shuffle by
Waiting for the moment
When you'll crouch down where I lie
Take my hands into yours
And than dance away the years
The year's i've been without you
And be done with all my tears
You are my Prince Charming
And i know someday you'll come
You'll slay the wicked dragons
Hold me close untill i'm numb
Darling, i'm your princess
But you've kept me far too long
Please come soon and kiss me
And i'll sing you this love song.
