Understanding the writings of the Church fathers is not difficult if we consider similar hermeneutical principals to the interpretation of Scriptures. The same scholarly approach should be taken in understanding the works of the Church fathers.

First of all we are all relying on a translation of what the Fathers said. While translations from Latin into English are certainly more reliable than translations from Greek or from Hebrew there are still difficulties in conveying what.............

We are cooking all day tomorrow starting at the crack of dawn. This is our menu:

Honey cranberry glazed smoked ham, sliced at room temp.
Grandma's stuffin' with fennel, celery, and garden onions
Grandma's brown beef gravy with minced garlic & button mushrooms
Sweet potato Cajun souffle baked in dark brown sugar & topped with chopped candied walnuts & pralines
White sweet corn, de-cobbed and buttered warm
Sliced green bean, sauteed in garlic, onion, & white wine
Fresh baked dinner rolls & sweet cream butter
Grandma's homemade apple crumble pie, a la mode
Grandma's homemade pumpkin pie, with graham crust

Took a break from turkey this year.

Does anyone know if there's a buffet or restaurant that serves traditional Thanksgiving food tmw in SF? I got tickets to see Cirque du Soleil tomorrow in SF for thanksgiving as well as my boyfriend's birthday? He loves Thanksgiving food.. but it'll be tough to find a place that opens on Thanksgiving Day especially one that serves that kind of food.. Any idea?

if i was a woman, i'd be agnostic at best...i mean, i understand why guys would be all about this...but ladies? really? is this why most of your faiths disallow you to be priests?

Could you PLEASE take a moment today? to say a prayer for one of my dearest friends, who found out just today that he has inoperable cancer. He is 70 years old and is planning to marry in January... His wife to be, is my best friend... God love her...she has nursed several people through the awful throws of cancer, the treatments, surgery's, and the slow deaths of her loved ones. How she lives through all this I will never know... and once again, at what should be a happy time, life has thrown her another painful and deadly curve ball... They are not going to share this information with anyone... I'm thinking they do not want to ruin any ones holidays, or the upcoming wedding... can you imagine... My heart is broken, she will need all the strength she can muster to get through this, as will he... so please say a prayer for these two wonderful people that you will never know... I promised I would not share it with anyone...but I know the power of our prayers can work miracles...

so we were in TJ, Mexico...and this guy asks if we want to see his sister "do the donkey." i thought it was a dance....the donkey...so i said yes not to be rude.....well, i don't need to get into details because i'm going through some account issues right now, but, long story short....my buddy killed his daughter (according to god's law) and i was cool with that....but then he killed the donkey...we looked it up and he was right, but why? christians? poor donkey....didn't know better.

Hi, I know this is probably a stupid question, however. I was baptised a Catholic but have never really been to church until my grandmother's funeral a week ago and now I am really interested in learning more about the religion.
