1 Timothy 2:12

"suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence."

so if you are typing, you are still being silent? is that your point? but your fingers are still making tiny clicking sounds....

if i was a woman, i'd be agnostic at best...i mean, i understand why guys would be all about this...but ladies? really? is this why most of your faiths disallow you to be priests?

It is indeed why so many Christian sects refuse women the opportunity to be part of the clergy.

I can't imagine worshiping a God who thinks of women as lesser beings.

Listen, Jeff, if I can go through a lifetime as a conservative Protestant and 3 years of seminary where it was 90 percent men, and they didn't shut me up, nothing anyone on this forum can say will do so. I know who I am in God's sight. Would you like more NT chapter and verse about women deacons, women prophets, etc? Happy Thanksgiving, btw, dear.

Women have always been the underdog in society - Religion is no different.

But I see your point. I could never understand why women would choose to be part of an organization/faith/club that considers them beneath men.

Better than that......

1Co 14:34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law (ie the law that still stands in NT is the codified Moral Law, and if it is still applicable today, so is THIS VERSE!).
1Co 14:35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

Most women today DO NOT wear head covering, contrary to the ordinances stated in 1 Cor 11; because of their utter rebellion, rebellion from the depth of the HEARTS.....esp in the Methodist churches, in Charismatics, the Anglicans. (PS Worst still, with the Anglicans, they perpetuate sacrilege and the abomination of priesthood in NT, when Christ Jesus had fulfilled it all - see Heb 7-10).

in short most women .....in accordance to the Word of God, are just like king Saul...

1Sa 15:23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, He hath also rejected thee from being king.

thus women preachers need to seek for their salvation, true justification whereby they may submit to the Word of God; rather than preaching! It is all pride.

but then...............this, YA, is not a church.

You have got to be kidding.
Paul wrote this 2 thousand years ago.
He wsas speaking of women teaching in church.

There are several Methodist churches in my town. Two have women pastors.

Did you also think to include the admonishment that Paul gave to men? He told them to respect, cherish, and treasure women and to treat them as Christ did the church.

I have several Christian friends whose husbands treat them like queens.

So you, too, pick what you like and leave the rest, I gather.

Are YOU the kind of man who would cherish a woman, or would you be the type who would dictate to her and treat her as your slave?

...You as usual, being a man used the word to whip a woman into the shape of subservient person....that is not what he meant!
