That a man that didn't really exist split time in half?

Oh ya, forgot, it's just a myth like all the others.

We need to have our baby baptized. This is a little about our situation…. We are not married, my fiancé is a catholic and I am a protestant. I believe my fiancé’s family would appreciate it if we have the baby baptized in the Catholic Church. I have no idea what the Catholic’s beliefs are? Are we going to be ridiculed for not being married and blessed with a child? I plan on converting to the Catholic Faith so we can all practice the same religion. BUT… I have no idea when we are to be married. Are we going to face any problems here?

I live in Europe and I'm trying to know more about the Catholic doctrine. Several protestant organizations send free Bibles but I was wondering if Catholic organizations did the same job because I am looking for a Catholic Bible in English (like the Douay-Rheims Bible for example). Thank you.

This was an answer to a previous question and I wonder... THIS is the loving God we are supposed to devote our lives to? "a consuming fire and His righteous and fiery judgement will be wrought on all those who live in rebellion and sin against Him"

Not what others do or say according to religion or denomination. But what could be so wrong or bad about Jesus Christ that you continue to refuse the sacrifice He died selflessly to give each one of us ?
Please don't base your answer on the any denomination or what others call Christianity. But In reading the Bible for yourselves and knowing what He did for ALL. Example: Well If they're a Christian then the woods are full of them. Please base your answer on what Jesus Christ did for humanity.I don't see how anyone could turn away from Someone that loved us enough to lay down His life and pay our Sin debt, when He was without sin Himself.
He made It possible for ALL who accepted Him to have eternal life In heaven. In refusing Him,what about Hell seems so appealing ? Eternal torment, burning In the firey flames and not being consumed, forever.

MANY people might say: ‘Does God’s name matter? There is only one Supreme Being.’ For example, a clergyman in Canada once said: “The name that people give to God is also unimportant.” This cleric held that it would make no difference if one used “Allah,” as do Moslems, or “Manitou,” as do some North American Indians. Many of the clergy have the same opinion.

But let us consider: Why do we use names? What is in a name?

Basically, names are used for identification. They are also often closely linked with personal achievements or fame. To millions, such names as Alexander the Great or Ghandi immediately bring to mind the achievements of these men.

But why is God’s name necessary? Because, although many people believe in only one true God, countless others worship many gods. Hindu people have millions of gods. In other parts of Asia and in Africa, millions worship their ancestors. What is the name of your God???

I need to buy my fiance's grandparents something for Christmas but I'm not sure what to get. He Nanny likes crafts and his Papal likes guns and stuff like that. I don't go to their house a lot so I'm not sure what they have and what they don't. I was thinking about making them a basket with homemade candies and a Christmas Candle. Do you think this would be good, or do you have any other ideas? Thanks!

60% of Christians believe in evolution. However, this is incredibly contradictory. If God created Adam and Eve several thousand years ago, it would have been impossible for all of the different races to come about, and everyone on Earth would be an incestuous offspring of them. Several thousand years is not nearly enough time for any noticeable macroevolution to take place. If you believe in evolution, but that God zapped us here in 6 days, why would you go against the Bible when it comes to evolution, but against science when it comes to abiogenesis? Why mix science and superstition? You don't make any sense. And don't bother with the whole micro and macro evolution crap, because it's the same thing, albeit over different periods of time.

If you get a gift that you really don't want - it's a clothing style you don't wear, it's a book in a genre you don't read, it's a piece of art that doesn't match your style, it's something you already have plenty of and don't need more of, etc. and there's every indication that the gift-giver is going to keep giving you this stuff every year, how do you politely steer them in a better direction? Or do you just accept that Christmas gifts aren't going to make you happy beyond the touchy-feely "they wanted me to have this" part?

I'm not talking about things like clothes that don't fit - I mean things that you just don't want.

I know some people would just suck it up and sell the stuff on Ebay. But for those people who are not computer-oriented - what should they do?

I had a discussion with a friend of mine on the subject of nationalism, and how it is relatively new. It is derived from colonization, India is a great example, and it is basically a group of people with a mechanized purpose, as the great Tagore put it. I was taught this well in my Global Studies class, a friend who enjoys arguing stayed firm on her belief that nationalism existed in ancient times, which is not possible since it is a direct creation of Capitalism. Yes, some may have used Capitalist elements, but the large society did not use them, or even share Adam Smith's notion of how wealth is measured (Labor). As you could imagine, I was greatly irritated by her objections. The basic fact is she was making a complete fool of herself and would sound completely ridiculous in front of someone who knew the subject well. I tried as best I could to explain this to her, but she just was not listening. Is there any way to change her mind on these facts or should I simply quit?

Ok - *if* you believe in hell --
do you believe it's literally a fiery lake? do you burn up as in a real fire or for all eternity? in the alternative, do you believe it's simply the absence of God?
And why?

One who created sin to punishing his creation for not obeying him, then decided that was too harsh and sent his son to die for the sins he created, then still requires that we believe in him and his son after thousands of years of no appearance, or we will still be further punished for the sin he gave us by eternal torture -- all while knowing everything in advance in so much as expecting and knowing what we would do but still allowing it to happen.

How can you love and trust a god like this? Nevermind believe in him....

Why do men have nipples???
Why is the penis, a testosterone-modified clitoris?
(This is proven from studies of embryonic development!
Indeed, in the womb, it is the FEMALE body plan which is the
default form, and the male form is a MODIFICATION thereof
(resulting from testosterone.)
And why would Adam have been created with nipples
anyway? (Or did Adam lack nipples..?)
Please enlighten me!
