I live in Europe and I'm trying to know more about the Catholic doctrine. Several protestant organizations send free Bibles but I was wondering if Catholic organizations did the same job because I am looking for a Catholic Bible in English (like the Douay-Rheims Bible for example). Thank you.

I do not know of any organization sthat will send you a free Bible but you can read them online for free:

The Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible: http://www.drbo.org/

The New American Catholic Bible: http://www.nccbuscc.org/nab/bible/

With love in Christ.

you've got some great links and scripture so i will just back up their statements. the Catholic church is not like that at all. sadly this is the problem - people are "told" things and then just believe. if you take the approach to things in life as you did in the above - you will go far. don't just believe something someone says - question and look into things. Catholics believe that salvation is a gift given to us all through Jesus Christ. once you accept Jesus into your life you want to do everything you can to be a person of whom Jesus would be proud. the Gift of salvation, while with you is not opened until death. that is the difference between other denominations.... Catholics don't believe that you are officially "saved" until death. i mean the other denominations talk about being saved and then (sadly) some turn around an do horrible things.... if you're saved in the manner in which they speak... you couldn't really have been saved. the scripture that talk about salvation use will be would be -- future tense. Catholic doctrine says no such thing today.... the pope spoke just a couple years ago about the fact that all CHRISTIANS and encompassing all Christian denominations in various statements. THings may have been different 100 years ago but ya know.... so was the world.

You will not find Catholic 'Doctrine" in a Catholic bible... just some more scripture books that the Catholic and Orthodox christian chuches have in their Canons.
