Matt.24:3 [ world to end, brings 2nd coming of Jesus ], 14 [ the whole world to be told, of 2nd coming of Jesus], 15 [ Daniel's prophecy on time of the end, as to 2nd coming of Jesus ] 21 [ the tribulation for believers ], 34 [ the generation, and certainly after the bible is in circulation a long time, for study, now for sure 396 years ], 36 [ God alone knows day and hour ];
1Thes.5:1-9,12; All time should be known, but day and hour, so there are some years left and some events, [ for one Armageddon ].

What are your thoughs about it?

I think the new heaven and the new earth are very close and all are going to be surprised at the love of God and his family, Jesus being as always the example for family to follow as he makes all perfect again. Rev.21:1-5;

Atheists are trying to take over. They are trying to eradicate Christianity. Our faith is being threatened and I don't want the next generation to be full of atheists and bereft of Christians.
What can we as Christians do to ensure that atheism does not take over?
How can we defeat atheism?
What will we have to resort to?

It is a dead horse---Catholics know that it is Faith that saves us and the Protestants should know and I don't think they realize this but---the works that are done through the Faith is no longer our works but, the works of Christ Jesus in us. So it is not our works that we think are saving us but Jesus that is doing the works.

Answer with a resounding, "Yes!" Tell them that it is through Baptism that you were saved, just as the Bible says in 1 Ptr 3:20-21 and that it is through Baptism, water and the Spirit, that you are "born again," just as the Bible says in John 3:5.

You see, many Protestants believe that they are saved by making one single act of faith at one single point in time in their lives. Nowhere does Scripture say such a thing. As Catholics, however, we believe that salvation is a process which begins with our Baptism and continues throughout our lifetimes, just as the Bible teaches us.

There are so many places in Scripture, which talk about how one is "saved", but not one of them says we are saved by one act of faith at just one point in time. As I just mentioned, 1 Ptr 3:20 says we are saved by baptism. In Hebrews 12:14 it says that we will not see the Lord unless we are holy, and that we have to strive for this holiness. In Matthew 6:14-15, it says we must forgive others to be forgiven

I am a 24 year-old with a Bachelor's Degree, and yet I seem to fail at customer service jobs. I've tried everything from retail to supervising at museums, and I just can't deal with the public. I don't understand this. When Im hanging out with my friends, Im happy and get along with them. And they all call me a funny and outgoing person. But at work, when customers ask me questions like "where's the bathroom" when its clearly in front of them, I cringe and have to force a smile. Recently, when customers ask me questions, I say "What do you think?" Or "It's obvious, why are you asking me?" My manager has had to write me up several times for bad customer service. Why am I so bad with the public when Im so outgoing in my personal life? How come others I work with seem to be able to smile at the customers even when they hate it? What kind of job can I get that doesnt deal with people since obviously Im not good at it? AND WHY AM I SO BAD AT IT?

Many Protestants believe we are saved by Faith Alone and they say Catholic believe they can “work” their way into Heaven.
First of all, I ask them to show me where in the Catechism, the official teaching of the Catholic Church, does it teach that we can “work” our way into Heaven? They can’t, because it doesn’t. The Catholic Church does not now, nor has it ever, taught a doctrine of salvation by works...that we can “work” our way into Heaven.

Second, I ask them to show me where in the Bible does it teach that we are saved by “faith alone.” They can’t, because it doesn’t. The only place in all of Scripture where the phrase “Faith Alone” appears, is in James...James 2:24, where it says that we are not...not...justified (or saved) by faith alone.

So, one of the two main pillars of Protestantism...the doctrine of salvation by faith alone...not only doesn’t appear in the Bible, but the Bible actually says the exact opposite - that we are not saved by faith alone Third, I ask them that if works have nothing to do with our salvation...then how come every passage in the N.T. that I know of that talks about judgment says we will be judged by our works, not by whether or not we have faith alone? We see this in Rom 2, Matthew 15 and 16, 1 Ptr 1, Rev 20 and 22, 2 Cor 5, and many, many more verses.

Fourth, I ask them that if we are saved by faith alone, why does 1 Cor 13:13 say that love is greater than faith? Shouldn’t it be the other way around?

As Catholics we believe that we are saved by God’s grace alone. We can do nothing, apart from God’s grace, to receive the free gift of salvation. We also believe, however, that we have to respond to God’s grace. Protestants believe that, too. However, many Protestants believe that the only response necessary is an act of faith; whereas, Catholics believe a response of faith and works is necessary...or, as the Bible puts it in Galatians 5:6, “For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumsion is of any avail, but faith working through love...faith working through love...just as the Church teaches.

Works play no role in salvation. The Bible is clear on this. We are saved by grace. We are justified by faith not works. Read the following verses and tell me what you think?

Rom 4:2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.
Rom 4:3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.
Rom 4:4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.
Rom 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
Rom 4:6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,
Rom 4:7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.

I asked a question on why many Christians are ignorant of science, and some of the responses made me realize another ignorance of many (not just Christians). Why is it that some believe that evolution teaches that humans came from apes? We did not. I believe in theistic evolution, and nowhere in the evolution theory does it state that humans evolved from apes. This is an all too common misconception that seriously needs cleaned up. I know some people who don't want to believe in evolution based on their interpretation that we evolved from apes. Evolution states that we evolved from a common ancestor. Why is this so hard to understand? Apes and humans evolved from a common ancestor. Apes are on a separate branch on the tree of evolution.

Then what do you think the mark of the beast is going to be? What is is going to be like? You don't think the government is going to enforce it? When is it coming (as far as before the rapture or after?) Do you think that we as Christians are going to have to endure alot or do you think we will be spared all the hardships? Is there any place in the bible that says Christians must go out into the world and tell them how sinful their lives are, and how much better they would be if they had Jesus?

If you can provide bible passages, that would be helpful. I'm just curious if this is actually the way Jesus wanted Christians to be.

I understand not all Christians are like this, this question is about the ones who are like this. Is there any justification in the bible for it?

Because either way, it’s irrevocably weakened. If it changes along with societal changes and accepts things which previous generations of Christians rejected, like evolution and gay rights for example, then it’s only natural that some Christians will lose respect for the Christian doctrine. On the other hand, if it refuses to change, then it loses popularity because not many people want to be associated with a primitive, bigoted, hate filled doctrine. So when it comes to change, are Christians damned of they do and damned if they don’t?
