Is there any place in the bible that says Christians must go out into the world and tell them how sinful their lives are, and how much better they would be if they had Jesus?

If you can provide bible passages, that would be helpful. I'm just curious if this is actually the way Jesus wanted Christians to be.

I understand not all Christians are like this, this question is about the ones who are like this. Is there any justification in the bible for it?

I ask because of questions like "Don't you know gay is a sin?"

Interesting. So far, the only people pointing out bible passages are the ones saying Christians should not be doing this.

For the Christians who are saying that it is justified, I hope you will write the passages that say it's your calling to do so.

Nikki, okay, so you CAN judge if you are free of sin.

When he talks about the spec and board, is he talking about the same particular sin, or sins in general? Is he saying you can't tell some one not to be a theif if you yourself are a bank robber? Or is he saying you can't tell some one not to be a theif, if you yourself are also a sinner by another sin?

Starfall answered this pretty well, but to 'rehash' the details....
We are to judge THE CHURCH BODY, other believers, in order that righteousness would prevail. That is why the commandment in Matt. 18 was given. Go to a sinner privately, then 2 or 3 together, then the congregation if he still won't listen. This is nothing new....look in Amos 1 and 2....
'For THREE transgressions....and for FOUR...' Do you know why Peter spoke with such boldness? HE DENIED THE MESSIAH 3 TIMES! If there were a fourth time, the punishment would not have been WITHHELD. THAT is 'grace'.
But here is our problem: the 'church' has NOT REMOVED ITS LOG, so that it can judge RIGHTEOUS JUDGEMENT.
What is the point to our judging each other? TO RESTORE RIGHTEOUSNESS....
Heb 12:5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
Heb 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
Heb 12:7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
Heb 12:8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
Solomon even wrote 'REBUKE a wise man and he becomes WISER STILL...'
The 'world', on the other hand, will not receive Him, so they will be judged by the measure they judge. Ultimately, they will be found to by hypocrites by their own measure.
Summing up, believers should chasten each other in love and meekness in order to RESTORE them to righteousness, but should only lead the world to the light of truth, which will expose them to their unrighteousness.

I've read practically half the Bible and I don't remember reading any part where it said that. Besides didn't Jesus say "he who is free from sins let him cast the first stone" or something like that? So why do some people feel entitled to point out the sins of others? They are contradicting Jesus and I believe that technically you're not a good Christian, or a Christian at all for that matter if you do that.

A lot of Christians go way overboard with this, but it is biblical to point out when someone does wrong. It has to be done in love, not in judgement.
Luke 17:3--If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him.
Matthew 18:15-17--If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. But if he will not listen, take one oir two others along, so that every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church, and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector.
I'm sure there are other verses, but that's what I came up with off the top of my head.

Well, it has lots of advice about judging others. On the one hand, we aren't supposed to go around condemning everyone and pointing out every bad thing they do. We aren't perfect ourselves! Read Matthew 7:1 - 5. If, however, we see a fellow Christian who is fallen into some kind of sin (like drinking and partying....big mistake for a Christian!) it is our duty as their brother or sister to gently (that's the key) encourage them to stop the sin and get their life in line with God's Word. I mean, if you were doing something stupid, wouldn't you appreciate the friend who loves you enough to tell you you're being an idiot? I know I would. (Galatians 6:1) We don't need to be nitpicky though...some things are best left up to personal conviction (Romans 14 is a good chapter).

Christians are also not supposed to just go through life with our mouths shut and pretend everything is okay. If I am talking to someone who thinks that casual hookups and one night stands are a-okay, you bet your sweet bippy I am going to tell them that such a lifestyle is immoral and won't lead to inner peace and fulfillment. Christians are supposed to stand up for what is right and true and condemn (nicely of course!) what is bad and evil. I can't find a clear reference for that. But look at how Jesus spoke to people...sometimes He condemned their actions publicly and took a stand. He is to be our example, we are to walk as He did. There probably is a verse for it but as my toddler is climbing on me I can't search for it just now. Sorry!

We are also supposed to look at our every action and every situation we face and make sure it is in line with the Bible. If it is, great. If not, don't do it.

. No there is not to my knowledge , The apostles were told to go and minister and spread the word into all lands . Every one is a sinner not one is perfect .There is one place that talks about a sinning bro , that we should go to him and point it out to him , then if he doesn't listen we are to bring some one with us and tell him again before we bring it up to the church the difference is that he is supposed to a brother or sister in Christ

Don't Criticize, and then you won't be criticized. For others will treat you as you treat them. And why worry about a speck in the eye of a brother when you have a board in your own?

Should you say, "Friend, let me help you get that speck out of your eye." When you can't even see because of the board in your own?

Hypocrit! First get rid of the board. Then you can see to help your brother.

2 Timothy 3:16 says, "All scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for REPROVING, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work." The key word here is reproving. And by the same token at Luke 6:41,42 we see that we should be examining our own "sin" as well. "Why, then, do you look at the straw that is in your brother's eye, but do not observe the rafter that is in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, 'Brother, allow me to extract the straw that is in your eye,' while you yourself are not looking at the rafter in that eye of yours? Hypocrite! First extract the rafter from your own eye, and then you will see clearly how to extract the straw that is in your brother's eye."

No, not to the world. We are to preach the gospel to the lost world. But within the Body of Christ we are to bring our brother who has weaknesses or has fallen back into the fold. There are provisions. One is, before you admonish your brother or sister, be sure that you are not guilty of the same sin. The other is that it is done in love.

Tell them the free gift of eternal salvation through the blood of Jesus. We have to look in the mirror when we point at someone else .
