Ignorance of evolution occurs by people like yourself that have not the sight or individualism to evaluate the evidence of every aspect of this world and make decisions for themselves but rather latch on to some previously wrong explanation as though it is the absolute truth. The truth lies in the combination of evolution and creation to deny this is to act like a puppet on a string echoing falsehoods. You must first decide what you believe about every issue before condemning any single aspect. of course evolution of a type took place on this planet at one time ,but the law of physics has changed from then, if you had considered this one fact you could approach this question with more facts , try to open your mind past these ancient unreliable lessons from teachers who also echo others thoughts, I offer this source as new thought for you. try the chapter "fact or fiction" and maybe the first two chapters also..don't be scared it doesn't hurt to look in different directions unlike your teachers.

Evolution means ultimately one eternal action which is endless and that is change. Also, a small example of how it involves changes through out eternity is a relative one easy to comprehend. a parent or adult is more evolved in their nature than a infant. The parent or adult knows this and depending on the parent's evolution since birth, will relate to their infant either in ways like soft sounds and expressions of feelings. knowing that touch is all the senses which are feelings of inner growth development. Those more evolved are also limited in many ways when they try to look upon the life they passed through and have the experiences that those behind are always following. Also, it is knowing how ignorance is a guided protection for those looking for truths and answers. take Snowden for example. He is in ways perceived as positive and then negative. but if you consider that we all have our minds evolving in a world body, it is in fact how evolution moves in no beginnings and ends. Also, consider how if you compare your self to an earth worm and how evolved you are consciously and how the earth worm is still conscious but in a rudimentary form, then the gods of history and in the new testament where it says, Jesus says, 'is it not written that we are gods', it becomes an insight that there may be many bodies of life and also universes of beings beyond our present comprehension. Just like the worm or nat and a person or even a child when compared to consciousness and physical changes which are an action of consciousness. one action and always moving as two, physical and spiritual which is consciousness. the worm and the person or the single cell organism which instinctively lives and is evolving and a person. one consciousness which is a bigger body of reality. We though can perceive and choose how we want to be and it is free will which is perceiving what we want to do, how to behave, how we will talk and think and choose to think instead of our own instinctual impulsive part of our life which is also the same consciousness. Hope this was not to abstract. Sincerely

The word "ape" is not a scientific term. In the vernacular, it refers to a non-human primate, and not necessarily a living non-human primate. It is perfectly accurate to say that humans and modern apes evolved from a common ancestor that was, in fact, an ape.
Consider the following headline released in several publications recently, including the Genome News Network: "Humans evolved from apes as a result of genetic mutation."

Part of the hindrance with believing evolution is the scientist who've built this perception. In 1912 Charles Dawson claimed to have observed the lacking hyperlink an human cranium with an ape hyperlink jaw, the pitdown guy. For forty years it used to be believed to be the lacking hyperlink till Radiocarbon scan used to be performed and proved the bones have been 500-six hundred yrs historic and got here from a lady cranium and a orangutan jaw. In the early twentieth century a teeth used to be observed and the Nebraka guy got here to exsitance which later used to be located to be a teeth from an extict pig. Java guy is now viewed a entirely regukar human. Heidenberg Man is viewed as being very simular to a constant guy. Most scientist nonetheless think that this guy is almost 250,000 years historic as a result of carbon relationship. In 1990 Time Magazine stated that scientist debate on how correct carbon relationship is and that it would be 1000's of years off. A dwelling snail used to be dated as being 27,000 years historic, which used to be performed in Science Magazine in 1984. Neanderthal guy used to be uncovered as being entirely human with a bone ailment that prompted him to be stooped over. There are such a lot of examples of scientist tring to end up the evolution theroy. Remember this is a theroy, it has but to be confirmed. Is it a possiblity, sure if you do not wish to think in construction however not anything fairly utterly helps it.

Because evolution disparages the Creation Story in the bible. Just think--maybe scientists one day will change the theory and decide that we are more closely related to existing apes, or that the 'common ancestor' or one of our unique forebears still looks a lot like apes. In any case, the finite tale of Adam and Eve is kaput, and something less romantic is the truth.
Is it any wonder that religionists reject it? They much prefer illusion and pretty stories to reality.

It's mostly academic laziness. Nobody wants to read something that's actually longer than a magazine article, or requires learning a vocabulary beyond layman's terms. People can't be bothered to pick up a science book, go to a museum, or look up the meaning of terms like "genetic drift".
You can tell this is the case because 99% of the arguments you see against evolution, are based upon an embarassing misinterpretation of what the term means and what science really proposes, whether it's "Evolution says monkeys turn into humans" (which as you point out is NOT what evolution says), or "You have to be an atheist to accept evolution" (which is also completely false), or "Evolution says everything gets 'better' or 'more advanced' up a species ladder" etc. See the last paragraph of Alice S's copy-and-paste post for some more misconceptions.
I think another thing that fuels this type of ignorance is the "conspiracy theory" attitude. Some people would like to think it's a case of the "emperor's new clothes", and that they can disprove 200 years of scientific research with just a few loaded questions. They're the types who like this idea that schools are "teaching a lie" and are part of some vast conspiracy.
Creationist attitudes and practices match those of conspiracy theorists. You could dig up the grave of Elvis Presley and show his corpse to the "Elvis is alive!" fanatics, and point tons of other flaws in their logistics, but they'd just make up some new story of how the body was a stand-in, etc.

Uh, no. Evolution teaches that we ARE apes.
There's no coherent way of defining apes without including humans.
So we both ARE apes, and we EVOLVED from (earlier) apes.
Gorrillas diverged from the common ancestor, then we did, then chimps and bonobos diverged from each other.

I remember when we had a discussion about evolution last year in science, the teacher acted as if he was going to cry.
A kid, after two days of talking about it,cried out,"So we come from monkeys right? Is that what you're trying to tell me,well guess what you're wrong."
The teacher made a very ,very bad angry face.
I think that some people just don't like the over all idea, and thus they disregard it.

I believe in God and in evolution (like you, I guess), but I've never bothered to correct people who say that (evolution says) man evolved from apes. Yes, man and ape both came from a common ancestor, but to a layman, that distinction would be rather academic and technical.
And the fundies who object to evoloution... to them coming from a common ancestor is just as shocking and godless.

Weell, you're correct of course, but it's a fine line. If anyone saw our common ancestor, they'd certainly think it was an ape.

The big problem is that most people don't accept that we ARE an ape - just another member of the Ape Clade.
