At first Satan was a good angel, but he and other angels he turned to his will (demons) turned against God and God made hell as eternal punishment.

He didn't make Satan. Lucifer, was the best of the Angels. On his own though he stepped out of bounds and became Satan. When you were born you were you, when you grew up and made up your mind to be a burglar, that isn't what you were created to be or born as but what you decided upon your own to be. So what we are created as, and what we decide to become on our own is not God's fault. He allows you to choose, right or wrong, good or evil, wise or foolish.... life is always a decision of choice. Lucifer decided to get overly proud and from then on he became Satan, no longer Lucifer the highest ranked Angel of all time.

Satan was an angle to begin with. He was respected enough for God to make him one of the angles over everyone in heaven. He has agency, just like we all have. God isn't all knowing, as far as what we will do, since we all have free will. I think He knows us better then we know ourselves, and so He knows what we will do in most circumstances, but that doesn't mean that we will actually choose what He thinks. That's why we have agency.

This is the situation with Satan. He used the agency that God gave him to choose to go against God. I'm sure he felt justified in doing it, and that is how he talked so many of God's children to follow him. We all have agency, and some of God's children used that agency to choose Satan over God. I'm sure God was upset by this fact, and sad because of all His children that choose Satan over Him.

Because God is a God of consequence, we all have to live through the consequences of our actions. It's the same then as it is now. God's plan never changes. If we disobey Him, we have to deal with the consequences of that action. Sometimes it isn't immediate, but they will always happen.

satan was an angel of goodness, the greatest angel ever created.

we are not sure why or how 1/3 of the angels fell into sin and became demons, but many scholars believe that God gave the angels a 1 time choice of free will.

Why would God do that? Ever heard the love poem?

If you love something set it free. If it comes back to you it was yours if it does not it never was.

What good is love if it is forced. This is why.

God made Satan an angel called Lucifer, a cherubim that is one of the most powerful angels that He created. But then Satan wanted to be like God. And God threw him out of heaven. With that Satan took with him a third of the angels who rebelled with him against God. That's why they are fallen angels.

The Bible is very clear about what happened. Check these verses (from the King James version):

Isaiah 14:12-15:
"How you are fallen from heaven, OLucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground. You who weakened the nations! For you have said in your heart: I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation. On the farthest sides of the north. I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High. yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, to the lowest depths of the Pit".

Ezekiel 28:14-15:
"You were the anointed cherub who covers; I established you; You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones. You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, till iniquity was found in your heart".

He gave all his children free will. We can choose to do and be good or evil. If we did not have this and God forced everyone to be a certain way, say good or evil, then would that person truly be evil or good? No, they would not. It is only by making choices and deciding on how we behave that determines whether we are truly good or evil. Satan choose evil, rebelled against God and was cast out.

Satan was actually his top angel... he didn't create him to be evil, but Satan (Lucifer) got to proud and thought himself better than God. You can then argue " God's all knowing, didnt he know Satan would do that?" The answer is yes... but God has a plan for everything...

I don't know, really. According to Milton's "Paradise Lost," Satan ("adversary") was originally the angel Lucifer ("bearer of light"). There was a disagreement and a battle, and Lucifer and his followers lost and became fallen angels.

Maybe it's wrong to assume that, because God is all good, everything he creates is also good. After all, He made man!

He created Satan as He created all the angels. Satan rejected God, just as many of us do today. The problem for Satan is that his decision is not changeable, whereas we can repent up until the moment of our death.

he knew man was going to fall because he gave man the choice to follow his word or not. He then decided that it would be futile to punish all because of what one dude did, so he said " Hey, im going to send my Son or my manifested being to the world to finish my prophecy to give those who chose to follow my word to have eternal life." So he sent this one dude that you may have heard of by the name of Jesus to die on the cross because that was his Purpose in life.... to live out the rest of Gods prophecy which if you read the book and Daniel, states that there will be a great Man who will do a great manifestation that no other man has done. Thus we, have a separation of religion Judaism--->Christianity------>religious wars
