We all have to put up with the morons of this earth, but smile, they make you a stronger person because you've been to hell and back.

If I may address this, let me offer some advice. Being different merely to be different is of little value. Of course, in a free society you are may present yourself pretty much as you choose. Do not make the mistake of dressing or acting different as a hedge to actually accomplishing something worthy of note.

What I am referring to is something I often witnessed among people I knew personally. Sometimes one would have difficulty finding acceptance. Often it was because they brought very little of value to the group. When this happens, as it sometimes does, one can proceed in different ways. One can dedicate oneself to improving oneself. One can pretend that they don't want to be accepted anyway and do something so anti-social that they become somewhat notorious in their ridiculousness.

Some people choose this anti-social direction because it allows them to achieve a kind of notoriety without any hard work or self-improvement. It is a very negative way to proceed because it retards your development. It locks one into a role that is easy to acquire but very difficult to shed.

Some people waste their entire high school or college experience by playing the game this way. Seldom does this lead to anything positive. The longer one delays the self-improvement process the more difficult it becomes.

I do not know you nor do I pretend to know your motivations. I just hate to see anyone sell themselves short. You are a unique and important person. You need to be sure that whatever path you select will lead you to where you want to go not just lead you away from adversity. Take on the challenge of self-improvement, self-confidence building and self definition. You owe it to yourself.

If folks are criticizing you its either because your surrounding yourself with insecure people and / or your bringing attention to yourself by dressing differently, acting differently from your normal self. If you don't like people who are immature, don't subject yourself. If you make changes in your looks and / or behavior, stand by it. Who really cares as long as there is no harm....... Right?

We've come to a generation where etiquette and politeness is practiced less and less. So many people feel the need to be and dress like one another. I personally admire those who separate themselves from the "norm". You've gotta be you. Carry on.

Unfortunately when you post anything on a public site, you will attract anything and everything; both ends of the evolutionary scale, so to speak...ignore the rude ones and use the helpful ones.
