Ask a question like this and your bound to get 10,000 different answers.

So i've heard from both the religious and non-religious a variety different answers about religion and its continuation. I've heard its on a Rise, on a Decline. I've heard that this is Cyclical, pointing to expectations in the last 70-100 years that Religion (of any sort) would be wiped out. Or expectations that a "Great Awakening" (Just what is that exactly?) is right around the corner.

So i'm asking, does anyone have any HARD evidence (not anecdotal, perhaps something statistical) to support one of the three suppositions above?

The Catholic Church that it is the "Only Way" to salvation.

I am sorry to disagree, the bible in John 14:6 says he is the only way.

The Catholic Church teaches that the Pope in rome is the head of the "True Church".

However, the Bible says that "Jesus" is the head of the True Church.

Do you trust a Chruch full of corruption, lies and coverups?

Or do you trust Jesus, the only perfect and Sinless one who ever lived?

When somebody asked a question recently about a hypothetical $500million for which the only requirement was that you stopped praying to God and going to church.

My understanding of Christian thought is that:-
a) You are supposed to love your neighbour and that is not just restrained to those next door, or even just in your city
b) You are supposed to do good works, ie things that would meet with God's approval. In this case the amount of good work could be very large.

The sacrifice asked was only a personal one and did not include going to Hell. The bottom line seemed to be "are you prepared to make sacrifices for the well being of others"? I thought this was a fundamental attitude expected of Christians, the example being set by Christ Himself. Judging by the large proportion of "No"(ie people saying they would not accept the money) answers, then my understanding must be wrong on these points. Please tell me why it is wrong? Funners kindly abstain.

I see this charge laid against us all the time. We are told that man founded the protestant religion why Jesus founded Catholicism. Is this true? The foundation of protestant religions is the Bible. The Bible is the Word of God. Who is the Word? John 1:1 makes it clear Jesus is the Word. So if Protestants build upon the Word and the Word is Jesus doesn't that make Jesus our founder as well?

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Matthew 24:21-22 (King James Version)

21For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

22And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

For all who believe in the rapture please explain these two scriptures. I don't understand how the days are shortened for the elect if the elect are to been raptured before the great tribulation.

OK, I've heard some wicked stories about 'Light as a feather, stiff as a board' and I've tried it a coupke of times and it never works, it's REALLY annoying. We really concentrate and chant 'Light as a feather, stiff as a board and try and lift the person up, each of us with 2 fingers, but we just can't do it. Are we doing something wrong?

I am a Christian as most people who have seen my answers know,
but I can take God out of the argument and STILL have a solid argument AGAINST this one.

Ok, so for one and this is VERY important,
it is ILLEGAL that means AGAINST THE LAW for kids this age to be having sex, the age of consent differs in different states but in most it is either 16 or 18 and I think in Kentucky it MIGHT be 14, but I'm not sure.
IN MAIN THE LEGAL AGE OF CONSENT IS 16 NO MIDDLE SCHOOL PERSON IS 16 (unless they were held back an awful lot , but the majority)
THIS IS AN ILLEGAL ACT
http://www.coolnurse.com/consent.htm

So if it is ILLEGAL(AGAINST THE LAW) for people of this age to consent to having sex then it should be (and I'm sure it is) ILLEGAL (AGAINST THE LAW) to give them birth control to keep them from having babies (a natural thing caused ONLY by having sex- and once in the bible by God himself)

Atheists believe we "evolved" from monkeys, and they're trying to teach our kids that non-sense in them brain washing institutions that some call the public "school system." That's why our younger kid is home schooled, and that's why we send our older kid to a Christian Acadamy. We want our younguns to have good, Christian Values!!!

If God is willing to prevent evil, but is not able to
Then He is not omnipotent.

If He is able, but not willing
Then He is malevolent.

If He is both able and willing
Then whence cometh evil?

If He is neither able nor willing
Then why call Him God?

to declair that a supreme being has ultimate control of your destiny.
& that this being makes sure all is aokay with your self-important life.
do some people think their too important to die & that be the end of it.

or is it shirking responability for your life, just incase the shyte hits the fan, so you dont take the blame?

what is the meaning of prayer?
it becons the image of helpless insects begging for more, yet doing naught to achieve on their own.

arent we worth more than that. people shoud give themselves credit where due, not some imaginary force.
this is what churches have always wanted people to be. emotional slaves. because it makes them manageable & controlable.

i saw recently on a christian progam, a guy actually telling people to literaly do nothing. that god is taking care of everything.

is this right?

i know some will dissagree. but spare it a thought.

It's more of a claim or a myth that there is this religion (it classified itself under Christianity) that encourages people to spread its praises/blessings/word not through songs of praise or prayer but through sexual intercourse with women.
There are actually followers, but what is this religion called anyway and where is it practised?

*note: I do not mean to offend any religion down here, please do not take offense in my words, thanks *

I just want to talk about the Big Bang -- nothing else. Why is it that even though there is a LAW against planets forming from gas, dust, and whatever -- Boyle’s law (Gas clouds dissipate outward ) -- people stil believe in the Big Bang? And another thing if the creation of the universe was random, chaotic, and unpredictable, modern scientific investigation could never have been developed.

PS -- I'm posting this in here since I know there r so many Atheists that r trying 2 find God... that was sarcasm 4 those of u who don't know.
