BTW - there is nothing amiss in this article nor any use of profane or swear words...just a study

I'm not proud of this but I have to admit, sometimes swearing works quite well to help get things off my chest. I'm careful when and where I swear and would never disrespect anyone by doing it in front of strangers. But I gotta say, it works for me.

I will not use any profanity at work. And this is a work place environment that is basically males. Yes the guys feel the need to express themselves through colorful vernacular, I decline. I would have to disagree with the UK on their study. I can't see how using profanity would relieve stress.

I saw that. I admit when I'm at the end of my rope at home, I have said a few swear words and may have felt a little better. However, I wouldn't do this at a job, nor would I want to hear it all day from others. I think I can find better ways to express myself and relieve my stress.

That news article doesn't seem controversial to me. I've heard plenty of cussing in the workplace over the years. Used a few choice words myself on occasion. I hadn't thought of it as stress relief. Oh well, I learn something new every day.

I saw that too but think they should have their own room like smokers used to so they can vent and not offend others. The only time I'm tempted to say a very bad word is when my husband bugs the heck out of me and won't stop. It works!

Who comes up with some of these studies? I admit that there are occasions when some pretty nasty words come from my mouth, but to use them as a way to relieve stress in the workplace?

Sometimes it does feel better to let out a word or two.
I usually don't at work but at home, I think it is a great stress reliever.

Sorry about the violation.

I think I'm getting senile. I thought I posted a question on it, too - no violation notice and no question. Hmmm. I thought it was an interesting article.

I saw it, and it was just about when I was going to complain about two men I work with using such vulgar language.

I think alot of people on seniors are way too uptight and too quick to report which if they understood the reporting system would realize false reporting makes thier reporting less effective
