We are programed over millions of years to find certain characteristics more attractive then others. For example, we find someone good looking because we are programed to be attracted to people with the best possible genes to pass on to our offspring. Being ugly could be interpreted as a sign of bad genes, so , therefore we find that unattractive, or bad.

Hollywood invented it. It's easier for an audience to like the protagonist when he or she is easy on the eyes and it's easier to hate the villain when he/she looks ugly.
And, yes there is. In Dickens' A Tale of Two Cities, Mme. Defarge is portrayed as pretty, but her character isn't very nice. Of course, the movie made her ugly because they wanted to make her look like a witch.

To be honest, it's probably related to how we judge mates and foods. If a food was rotten, it looked ugly and smelled bad hence ugly equals bad. For mates healthy is good, and over time various indications of health became considered more pretty, which would also contribute to various racial characteristics.

Stereotypical images.

Good is always pretty, hence in wrestling the hero is known as the Face and the baddy is known as the Heel.

However, this is a scary misconception as I have mentioned on a previous question. I believe Satan is a very attractive and well spoken man who is more than capable of flattery and charm.

I hate to break this to you but it is known that the whole thing Bible and it's contents are all the work of man and NOT the word of God.

I read somewhere that even the crucifixion story was over exaggerated to keep man in a controlled environment.
It is mans invention not Gods.
Enjoy your day.
