Do You Shut Him OUT?

or

Do you go into PRAYER?

Not helping him get through this, Is the right thing to do. Please don't misunderstand, he needs to be punished. But as a Christian, Am I TRULY my brother's KEEPER. Do I pray that he realizes the error here and he repents and returns to God's good graces. Or do I push him away, judge him and leave him to fight this alone.

If we live in a purely material world then how do we account for the many supernatural experiences that people have, such as encounters with God, ghosts, spirits, etc (obviously, exactly what all of these encounters actually are are all interpreted by different people in different ways but the fact remains that people encounter things that do not fit a purely naturalistic world view). Are we really to conclude that all of these people are delusional, deceptive, or mad? Or could it be that people are having real encounters with real supernatural beings not explainable through purely scientific mediums?

If you just say that the people are crazy or deluded, is that really fair since you're not actually them and you don't knwo what they are experiencing? Just because you have never experienced it doesn't mean it's not true. I've never been to China but I don't claim that China doesn't exist.

It is obvious that anything that is designed has to have an intelligent creator. For example, a computer never came about by mere accident, but had to have been thought out and planned by an intelligent designer. It is the same with creation, and more so, as the natural world is far more complicated than anything humanity can create.

According to some it is three times, others as much as seven. Why is that and where is the origin of there being a specified amount? As far as I'm concerned there isn't a specified amount, it is not for me to say. It is up to The Gods to decide the severity so it would not be possible for me to say.

Also, on a point about karma, although similar to karma I do not believe karma is accurate. From what I know of it, from Hinduism/Hare Krishnas, karma is similar in that all deeds good are bad have a reaction. However, karma is also linked to past lives and according to it a person born sick, poor, disadvantaged in some way etc. would mean that this was a direct result of their karma and deeds in their past life. So it would be with a person born rich, healthy etc.

Some say just believe, but believe what? some say just accept Jesus Christ as your savior & you are saved & once you are saved you can't be lost you dont have to do anything except give me your 10% & ask no questions.I have not been able to undersatnd this to be true, while i do read in Mark chap14:1-20 about the sower that once saved you can be lost,in Mark chap 16:15-16 you have to be baptized as well asw Acts Chap2:38,Romans Chap 6--- In addition i understand that we must repent, must not forsake the assembly Hebrews chap10:25,that we must sing Ephesians chap5:19.What we hear many times is not the bible being taught but just plain ole everyday politics at worship services. Is the reason for this is that you are afraid you may run your members off if you tell it like it is & loose your $$ support??Why not just preach to truth from the bible & dont worry about who leaves or stays. Chances are that if they are offended by the truth they probably weren't giving much anyway truth is free !

of utter disbelief? Working from the understanding that there are those on here that aren't the "sharpest knife in the drawer".

Did our "common ancestors" have an immortal soul?

If you say they didn't, I'm sure that even the "usual suspects" here will be smart enough to realize that no matter how you phrase it, (usually full of sophistry) it is contra-Christianity because we believe that we possess an immortal soul. By espousing evolution, you are, conciously, or by default, seeking to overturn Christianity in favor of a your no-God belief. This is what Christians need to understand.

I've seen answers that say Albert Einsteindidn't believe in God and answers that say he did.
Here is what he said:
"I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religion than it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it."

"I cannot imagine a God who rewards and punishes the objects of his creation, whose purposes are modeled after our own -- a God, in short, who is but a reflection of human frailty. Neither can I believe that the individual survives the death of his body, although feeble souls harbor such thoughts through fear or ridiculous egotism."

"I do not believe in the immortality of the individual, and I consider ethics to be an exclusively human concern with no superhuman authority behind it."

"If people are good only because they fear punishment, and hope for a reward, then we are a sorry lot indeed."

It seems that in recent years as Homosexual people have come out and demanded thier right to live their lives openly and with a lover a number of churches ranging form Fundamentalist to Catholic have responded by stating that they do love us and care about us but firmly believe that homosexuality is sinfull and that we should be celibate. Through experience I believe that approach is bull---- because in the past there was similiar arrangement called segregation(Seperate but equal), which in actuality was not. Segregation was the practice of many christians. The truth is that The belief of "it is fine to be who you are but....." has proven to be unrealistic and unworkable.

I just read an article that basically said if you're buying something and you want a lower price, just ask. I know people haggle to get lower prices at yard sales, maybe farmers' markets, but do you do this no matter where you go? Do you always ask for a lower price or do you just pay what the marked price is? If you're a haggler, what success stories can you share?

Instead of pre-emptive strike on Iran or any other countries, US congress should pass a law allowing law enforcing agencies to arrest all the known criminals before they commit crimes. That will wipe out the crimes and possible victims won't have to suffer. Billions of dollars on crime solving will be saved also. Millions of people won't die from the bullets of criminals. Does it make sense to any one?

I have two cute young men who come to my house every week and they ask me if there is anything they can do for me. Because I am a Christian woman and I have morals I do allow them to mow my lawn and trim my bushes. While they are mowing in the hot sweltering sun with the sweat glistening from their hardened bodies, I position myself with shorts and halter top, in the garden to pull weeds, bending, grabbing and pulling them over and over again. The boys come back week after week to mow and trim while I grind away at my nasty weeds. Sometimes they visit twice a week. Am taking advantage of these boys?

The popular idea that the apostles didn't show up for the Crucifixion because they were "afraid" doesn't seem to hold up.

Luke 22:49-50 tells a different story, since the apostles were ready to FIGHT on his behalf and Jesus stopped them. That shows they were NOT afraid.

So here is the question: Do you really think that the apostles were afraid as you were taught. Or do these verses from Luke tell a different story... that the apostles were ready to fight on his behalf.

I think the apostles were not at the Crucifixion because Jesus didn't want them there. What do you think?
