IDK if everyone has the same bible...

Here it is word for word.

Planting seeds for Christ is great!
Destroying his message by being judgmental or by not showing unconditional love isn't planting seeds it's planting thistles.

I only quote scriptures to believers because they believe nothing else. Never use scriptures at people that don't believe in scriptures you become a joke and you make your God out to be a joke. Read this and consider:
(John 12:47)
And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

Christians quote scriptures to unbelievers all the time when they should be using the "Word written on their hearts" to communicate with people. You have to care to communicate. If you don't care then you show yourself to be pompous.
Christ only gave two commands, I'll remind you because I see little evidence that Christians are aware of these commands:
Love God with all your heart.
Love your neighbor as yourself even if they hate you.

First of all let me say that I am not trying to insult you or be funny, this is a serious question and I would like serious answers. Second let me say that I do not belong to any particular religion so I'm not trying to convince you of anything.
Why is it that you do not believe in an afterlife? I'm not talking about god, satan, heaven or hell, just an afterlife.

Is it

A- You're trying to tick off theists?

B- Since you consider the theist’s beliefs illogical you figure that the opposite would have to be logical?

C- you consider it your belief and if so, do you have any proof to back it up or is it on faith? (for lack of a better word)

Or

D- Explain in your own words.

Hmmm, seems a bit of a coincidence. After all, how often were all male children slaughtered? Was this a fairly common occurence?

Since there is no historical evidence or any other indication that either event took place, could this be yet one more example of creating (or retro-fitting) the Jesus myth?

There have been arguments made that neither character was even a real person. If this is the case, were the inventors of Christianity plagiarizing?

Does your spirit really leave your body and go somewhere where there is eternal peace, joy and happiness? Can our loved ones really watch over us after they leave us? And are we really going to be reunited with them one day? Or when you die, that's it. Nothing else.

There is not a single unequivocal statement in the entire Bible where Jesus (pbuh) himself says, "I am God" or where he says, "worship me". In fact the Bible contains statements attributed to Jesus (pbuh) in which he preached quite the contrary. The following statements in the Bible are attributed to Jesus Christ (pbuh):

"…I cast out devils by the Spirit of God…."
[The Bible, Mathew 12:28]

"…I with the finger of God cast out devils…."
[The Bible, Luke 11:20]

"I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgement is just; because I seek not my own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me."
[The Bible, John 5:30]

"Nevertheless I (Jesus) must walk to day, and to morrow, and the [day] following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem." - Luke 13:33

"And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house".- Matthew 13:57

This is aimed at born again christians, who put their trust in God- to remind them of His faithfulness.
This verse was up on my daughter's classroom wall yesterday and it just popped out at me- I absolutely love it, one to be constantly reminded of! So I wanted to share it with those of you who are going through anything right now- or who may be having anxiety or fear: Joshua 1:9
9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."

That is a promise! God is with us, who love Him, wherever we go! Even if it does not feel like it, He is always with us.
We can talk to him anytime, anyday- and He will remind us of His promises, and His faithfulness....do not forget what His word says- and please "search the scriptures daily" as it says in Acts- So we can continue to walk closely to our Lord and Savior.

www.friendships.org -- Friend Ships Unlimited (Park West Children's Fund, Inc.), provides large scale humanitarian and disaster aid and supports ongoing programs that are having an ongoing impact on their communities. A person can volunteer to work with them. They send "mercy ships" to places in need of supplies and as we speak are mounting an effort to send a ship with supplies to the help the people of the earthquake disaster region of Peru. I would like to hear from anyone who has worked with Friend Ships. I am retired, in good health, and giving thought to the possibility of working with them myself.

I read that the health service in USA was considered at a low level by the world health org., worse than in Costa Rica, even if the USA medical research is at the top. Maybe because in USA health is considered a private business and not a human right and a public service, like, e.g., in Europe. What do you think of it? Do you think that things are going to change or the private interest of ensurance companies will still prevail in the USA government politics?

My question is: Does a Christians view of Jesus influence his/her political/social views, or does a Christians political/social views influence the way the person views Jesus?

A question was asked here once, “Would Jesus socialized medicine?”

Some said Jesus would want universal health care: Jesus healed the sick, raised Lazarus, etc. Others said Jesus would not support higher taxes.

It’s amazing how Jesus sounds like a liberal coming from those on the left, but a conservative when described by the right.

I find it interesting that evolutionists think that creationists are not smart or lacking in proper education. I've read Dawkins, Gould, Behe, and Hawkings among others. I have a Ph.D., albeit not in biology, but I have taken several biology courses. I am successful in my career and I have a wonderful family and home. However, in the mind of an atheist, I am considered a fool for my faith in Jesus Christ and my belief that the world was created.

Why is it that I am written off as stupid; yet, I could easily demonstrate a higher plane of intellect than many atheists on this forum?

What is more likely, that I am simple or that we simply disagree?

Please Note: The candor of your answer will give me a good impression of your level of cognitive ability.

The problem of evil is, in a nutshell:
An all-good, all-powerful, all-knowing God would not create a universe with so much suffering,
Yet there is a hyper-abundance of needless suffering.
Therefore such a God does not exist.

Okay-No secret here that I like to post articles for thought and discussion on the 2nd Coming of Christ and everything that leads to that Glorious event.

I see the End Times as the most miraculous, marvelous and joyous time for the human race....That does not mean that human life on earth is horrible, altough for some without shelter, food, love of family and friends might think it is, but it's like something you look forward to because nothing but GOoD will come from it, and who in thier right mind does not want to see a Perfect World? with nothing but Perfection of Love and Happiness come to the planet and entire universe...

Do you see anything in pertaining to this world ending, as Gloom and Doom because you only see your life having any meaning of life and substance the short time you walk this planet?

If we're all capable of interpreting the Bible how can we determine who's interpretation is correct and who's interpretation is in error? Who has the final say as to what is being said?

If it's the Holy Spirit that has the final say then why do we have so many different interpretations from people who claim the Holy Spirit revealed the meaning to them? Somethings got to give.

Throughout then Bible, it was documented that Many STUDIED The Scriptures. Some night and day. Some got it right about The Christ.
Saddly some are still waiting for the Messiah.

Today there are still many who have a belief in an approx year when The Lord Jesus Christ is Coming back.

Do you have any idea's or heard of any?

It was strange one morning, I woke up and reached for my mobile Ph, which has a calculator on it. Both that and the Bible were beside my bed.
Working on a dream and knowledge of the Earth, I got a year and then went directly back to sleep, happy and a little excited.

I will let you know my answer once a few people answer this. To show I and know one is copying? Or hopefully the Scholars agree with me!

I have not heard of any year He will return, until I woke up with the bible and a calculator that morning.

Of course, everyone knows my girlfriend is a Christian. She also has gotten to be a no-nonsense type of character, at least as far as I'm concerned. I have to admit, I've noticed the biggest change since she became a Christian.

She's always been a loving, patient, caring person. For most of our relationship, though, she's been completely indulgent of me, and put up with whatever way I've acted. This has not, quite honestly, been a good way for things to have progressed, and if I could go back and do things differently, I would. I also have to admit that it is in my nature to misbehave.

Since she's become a Christian, though, she's having none of it. For instance, when I woke with my hangover Saturday morning, she asked me, "Are you going to make this a habit?"(I had also had a hangover the previous day) She then announced we were going out that day as planned, whether I liked it or not---and then proceeded to vacuum right through my hangover. The woman's gotten strong....
