I've been feeling cold today, enough to dig out my fleece top. I sat with a hot water bottle this afternoon, my excuse was that I have a bad back (which I have) oh, that warmth was such bliss.
I think the weather has been topsy turvy all year, so I've given up thinking in terms of seasons - if it rains I wear a waterproof, when it stops I take it off, when its cold, put the layers on, when it's hot, shed them.
I had a forsythia in flower in January instead of the usual March, and I seem to remember summer in April, and was that an Indian summer in July, The way things are going it could be snowing in November (don't quote me, unless it does). Sorry, did someone mention global warming?

I live in BC Canada and its been damn cold here, I am in the mountains and noticed new snow on the peaks yesterday. I am used to living in the interior where its really hot all summer, until mid October but its been a bad summer everywhere.
A couple of weeks of searing hot weather, then cold and raining.
I was thinking of turning the furnace on the last two nights but opted for a hoodie. Had to get out a extra comforter for the bed though.
The stupid thing is the AC unit is still in the window !!!!!!!! Not typical at all.

Oh, my! I'd be more than happy to send you some of the brutal heat & humidity we are experiencing here in the south (USA) It's currently 98 degrees here. We've had these temps & even higher temps for the past two months. Summers in the north where I lived until a year ago, were never this hot. At least now, I don't have to put up with the brutal winters that kept me captive in my home for a good five months. No snow here! :)

I keep my computer in a little cupboard and have to sit just outside the door with my knees under the shelf the equipment sits on. The heat from the computer tower keeps me really warm so I don't need the central heating on just yet.

Sounds wonderful. I am in the American south. Over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Way too hot! Central air can't keep up with the heat. Having a sever drought, too.

I SHOULD have the furnace on, but I absolutely refuse to relent...not unless I wake up to find frost on the ground!!
Today the temperature gauge hasn't risen above 17C (that's 62F for our American friends), and the wind in cold enough to make the kids wear sweaters when they're out on their bikes.
The overnight temperatures have been averaging 11/12C for almost a week now.
What burns my butt is that I have only got ONE ripe tomatoe off my garden. When the weather has been hot, it has been debilitatingly hot with humidexes up above 40 degrees. But when it is not nastily hot, it has been ridiculously cold it seems. With only just a few days of nice "in between" weather.
In southern Ontario our weather is supposed to be mid 20s right now, with highs ranging to the low 30s, and overnight no colder than 15-18 degrees.
Yes, it is cold. But not just in London. The weather is screwy and depressing in a lot of places in the world. Just look at Dragon's question on mother nature's whims and you'll get an idea of how bad it continues to be in the U.S.

I've had my heating on for most of the summer! For a few days its been far too warm to do that, but there's not been so many of those. I HATE the cold. You can't function properly.
I should be boasting a gorgeous tan by now. Nope. My skin is dark through being Spanish as it is, but this year i'm whiter than ever!!!

Yes I had my heating come on at 4.30 so it was all nice and cosy when I got back to my flat. It's all this damp air making it chilly.
Don't worry you can turn it off again at the weekend. The summer is just around the corner >:)
