When I turned around to her and said thats racist, she just laughed. Why is it that they can get away with it, yet if the shoe was on the other foot, I would be in front of a judge. Just for info, I am NOT Racist and have done work for the indigenous people of Australia.

Maybe it's just in the movies or those little fairy tales you read as a kid, but what ever happened to those small towns where everyone sticks together and stands up for each other. Instead they all sit around waiting to be the first one to have the new gossip and to be the first to tell everyone about your faults. What happened to that small town where everyone works together? Does one even exist?
A wise man once said..... "Why look at the speck in your brothers eye when you miss the plank in your own?"

I think his self-hatred led to his drug abuse.

And for those in the "being gay is a choice" camp, why would Ted Haggard choose that?!?

Because praying to someone or asking them to pray is the same thing. Any child can figure that out. It's hard make a Catholic understand that they don't need Mary to intercede for them anyway. That's what Jesus is. The intercessor between us and the Father.

There are so many Christians here but I seldom see you in questions. Flood this site with the TRUTH. Make a WAVE in the desert with the Word of God. Come on out for the time is about up for this World Age. Jesus Christ is coming right after Satan does. Make a stand with me. Don't hord these simple points. They mean nothing. It cost you nothing to touch someone with truth.><>

I'm gay but not in the open, and that question happen often in a bar setting or behind-the-door of the sauna at the gym. Notice that the ''do you have a girlfriend?" is one of the most immediate question being asked. It puzzle me. I'm not paranoid, I just think it's a bit odd.

In my silly little country, Holland, we never learned about Creationism. But I see the ongoing debate on this forum about having Creationism be taught in schools.

The last weeks I asked a lot of questions about Creationism. I wondered _how_ God did it, how it was possible to 'speak into existence 50 billion planets in 6 days (that's 518.000 planets per second), what materials he used, etc, etc.

The only answer I constantly got was "God did it, and He is beyond logic".

So, assuming Creationism was taught as a valid theory in schools, how would this lesson take longer than 2 minutes?

Would there be any value in attempting to make help or counseling available to people who fit the profile of serial killers, serial rapists, serial child abusers, before they ply their trade for the first time? Would such a person seek or accept help? Could lives be saved? Am I being overly optimistic?

It's not that I think we are being too hard on them. Personally, I don't care if they rot in hell.

It's just that if we wait until they've killed 3 or more people before we begin to profile, identify, pursue, prosecute, or find other ways to stop them., are we not doing society a disservice?

What would you do if while you are sitting in your car in the parking lot of a grocery store, someone bumps a grocery cart on the side of your car by accident and causes a scratch? Is it enough if he apologizes with a frawn on his face or do you ask him to pay for the damage that he has caused? and how much? What is the exact thing that you would do?

"Warmly welcome the experts and scholars at home and abroad. Thanks for your presence at our university and your precious opinions."

It is a banner and it is Chinglish. I want to know the correct way of saying this. My opinion is like this:
1. Since it is on a banner, capital letters should be used.
2. "The" is not necessary.
3. "Warmly" should be crossed out.
4. "at home"
5. "Thanks" sounds informal. It should be "Thank you".
6. "at our university" should be "to"
7. "Precious opinions" is Chinglish.
It is the translation of a Chinese sentence. If you think it is not worth correcting, please tell me what would you use in such circumstance.
I think it should be:
Welcome Experts and Scholars Domestic and Abroad to Our University for Inspection
