There is no sufficient scientific evidence for most things in life. Everything is just observations and hypothesis.
I have friends who will meet a stranger and tell them their deepest, darkest fears and secrets. How do you explain that scientifically?
Clairvoyance is not explained scientifically, but exists. Tarot reading is also part of this - it is usually a gift by birth, but can also be developed. When you go to a true tarot reader, they look at you, try to 'feel' your vibes and ask the universe to guide them to the right card. The cards are just a medium. Some use crystal balls, some use cards, some use pendulums, some use nothing. The problem is there are a lot of fakes around these days, and its hard to identify genuine people.

I think it would be a good idea to read up on Tarot reading. It was not used to tell the future it was used to guide people on their path. I have read the stories that each card represents. These stories represent the passages of life. To read the cards with that in mind it is very simple, no profound evil influence. I won't go into the layout or the meanings of each card. I found that when I did a reading for someone I would do the spread of the cards and then thoughts formed, I was being guided in what to say. When you begin a reading you pray to God to guide and protect you. I found from what happened that my thoughts and feelings did show what the person asking the question wanted to know and with gentle kindness I was given a direction to help them. I believe that this is a gift from God, just another way for us to help and encourage others. A kind and compassionate God, not something diabolical. With this faith the cards become a counsellor. If someone wants to ask the Tarot a question then they really are asking God for help. This is what I believe and I really don't expect anyone else to believe me. I was very surprised when I first tried because I didn't really get it either. I have felt His presence when I read the Tarot. God is all knowing, all seeing and the creator, what is not to believe? I hope this helps.

However, all the famous physic only get it right about half the time. Which is the law of averages. See people don't bother to actually look and see how acurate these things are. I have seen people say online "Well doesn't Sylvia Brown get them all right." Well they have not looked into it. No any physic has 50 50 success rate. Doing just as well as if I just tried to do it my self. How specific did this reading get for you. There's that old trick where they hand out a physic reading for everyone in the class. Then they ask everyone how accurate their's was. Having many things in there about their personality traits and such. kind of like a Leo is this and that.. Almost everyone raises their hands. Then they pass each sheet forward and the front seat's paper goes to the back. Then everyone sees they are all the same. See how it kind of works now.

I think people believe in Tarot Cards though wishful thinking, or from experience. I am a Christian, & while I'm not going to say it is rubbish, I do feel that it is dangerous to mess around with. I have a friend into witchcraft, some of the things he has told me seem way out there, but I can not dispute his claims. But I do feel this is dangerous too. But some people seem to prefer the dark side of things. Others do it because they think it's cool.

Belief is based on mostly faith and truth is proved by scientific reasoning. In Tarot there is no scientific reasoning, it is something like astrology that tells your present and future Forecast or predictions.

For those who are ready, no explanation is necessary and for those who are not, no explanation is possible! http://www.psychic-junkie.com
But for the happy skeptics misbelieving there is no scientific proof, here are a couple of good sites for you.
Dr. Rupert Sheldrake, one of the world's most innovative biologists, has revolutionized scientific thinking with his vision of a living, developing universe with its own inherent memory. He first worked in developmental biology and is best known for his theory of Morphic Fields and Morphic Resonance. His latest book, "The Sense of Being Stared at" develops his concept of the extended mind. http://www.sheldrake.org/

they are only a tool to do what is already possible to do, it just makes the ability to focus easier. an experienced person could do the same thing without using cards. anybody that puts thier faith in the tool, can never realize the work of the user. thomas

The same reason people believe in religion. Personal experience and they want to believe. There are also sacred texts on it like any religion.

Because it's spooky and mysterious and some find that compelling. Plus, if you make a good reading, your ego gets stroked and it means you are special and psychic and tuned into the Cosmos. Ooooh...
