On sharing secrets, I like this quote by ... either Mark Twain or Ben Franklin.. I never can remember which one... "Three can keep a secret, if two of them are dead."
So, no, I don't share "secrets" with strangers, unless I'm willing for the secret to no longer be a secret.
Where farts are concerned, I think of Shrek. I fart like an ogre. No need to cover my head to smell it. The flowers die and the paint peels. If anything, the world needs to cover their heads and run for cover. ;-)
