I just watched the 60 minutes special on the duke rape case and I am angry. Yes it is a shame that those boys were falsely charged and are still being charged when evidence proves otherwise. But what upsets me is why the black protestors a lot of them were important members of the black community feel that they can do what the did and insult and threaten those boys and not be held accountable? They made michael richards apologize for his actions.. I am not defending either group but I am saying that what is good for the goos is also good for the gander? Like it or not. Sorry if this upsets you and you think I am a racist. I am not, I am just highly upset over the one-sidedness that seems to take place.

I've been reading a few religious books/scriptures. I really liked the Bhagavad Gita. Can someone tell me some more about Hindism? It seems really interesting. If anyone could help me with it more, I'd be extremly happy to receive emails and be able to write back and forth with questions I might. Thank you all so much =D

I'm not talking about a 1 minute report on prime time, I'm talking about 30 minute specials, documentaries, etc on these missing white kids. I know there are missing asian and black kids but they don't make the news. How does this country expect us to support their war on terror when they treat us like second class citizens?

"I want you to just let a wave of intolerance wash over you. I want you to let a wave of hatred wash over you. Yes, hate is good. Our goal is a Christian nation. We have a biblical duty, we are called by God to conquer this country. We don't want equal time. We don't want pluralism". - Randall Terry, Founder of Operation Rescue

"I want to say to all you Scribes, Pharisees, heresy hunters, all of you that are going around picking little bits of doctrinal error out of everybody's eyes and dividing the body of Christ... get out of God's way, stop blocking God's bridges, or God's going to shoot you if I don't. I refuse to argue any longer with any of you out there. Don't even call me if you want to argue. Get out of my life. I don't want to talk to you. I don't want to see your ugly face." - Paul Crouch, President, Trinity Broadcasting Network

I read that a "creation museum" just opened. Without being insulting, could someone please explain how you can just put aside all the scientific proof that the Earth is far older than the 6,000 years the creationists claim? I know there are large holes in the evolutionists story too, so I dont need to hear that. Dont tear the evolution side apart, just try to convince an admitted skeptic that there is any beliveable way that it could have happened the way creation claims.
I dont want to hear "its all about faith" because that means you dont have any proof, and Im not saying it *didnt* happen that way, I just want some reasonable person to tell me how they can believe it in 2007.

And no, im not an atheist, Im an agnostic, which means I dont know which side is right, they both have major problems being believeable.

My Bible tells me that it is to be understood that this is not a book of predictions, but it is, instead, symbolic. That this book applied to a people and a time far different than our own. I believe that. It is logical. Why is there, especially now, such a facination with the rapture, with the tribulation, and with Revelation - when, in fact, many of the modern views of such have been invented at least 100 years ago ( I realize that it is not specifically 100 years, a little more than that, but bear with me). It is especially prevelant in fundamentalist churches. The Catholic Church and my Presbyterian faith do not focus on this depressing aspect of the Bible. Why does yours?

Is it impossible for me to find a job in Australia with just a bachelor's degree and no clear directed path (jack of all trades, master of none)? I'm tired of fast-paced American society. If anyone has sympathy for me, can I stay at your place while I get myself settled? I'm a great cook. Yes, I have little shame.

What is your most admired quote or song lyric?

I'd like to share one of mine: It's from Coldplay, "what if?"

"Every step that you take, could be your biggest mistake.
It could bend or it could break, that's the risk that you take"

and also a book quote: "The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it . . ." Resist it and the soul grows sick with longing.

At my school a few friends and have created a bible study group. The first one went really well (about 15 people showed up) and one of the co-creators is doing the second bible study and I am doing the third, but I have no clue what to do it on. I was wondering if anyone had any topic ideas (I can work with about any topic) but preferably not a topic too...how should I put this...intense for the people I am doing this for (ex. sexual purity and such).

I greatly appreciate your input!
Thank You & God Bless!

*Sigh* I know there's never been an atheist U.S. president in history (or at least publicly known), but I think this answer I got from 006 sums my opinions up pretty well.

"America would be better off with an atheist president, because he would not give precedence to one religious affiliation over any others, and he would base his decisions purely on what is for the greater good of America, without being influenced by the prophecies of whatever religion he follows. It's no coincidence that the Bible calls for the re-establishment of Israel and our unilateral support for that country which has different laws for different races (something which is totally un-constitutional).

God did not choose GWB to lead this nation, we the people did, for better or for worse. "

Thanks 006 :).

Breathe, breathe in the air.
Don't be afraid to care.
Leave but don't leave me.
Look around and choose your own ground.

Long you live and high you fly
And smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry
And all you touch and all you see
Is all your life will ever be.

Run, rabbit run.
Dig that hole, forget the sun,
And when at last the work is done
Don't sit down it's time to dig another one.

For long you live and high you fly
But only if you ride the tide
And balanced on the biggest wave
You race towards an early grave.

Breathe ~ Pink Floyd

So what do you think? Spiritual or not? What do you think it's trying to say?
