Centuries ago, the church in England broke away from Rome. And the Church Of England was born. Would you like to see the Anglican Church rejoin the Church Of Rome? In the U.S. and in some other countries the Anglican Church is known as the 'Episcopal Church'. There are millions and millions of Anglicans around the world. Would you like to see these two denominations unify? Do you think it will happen? If so, why? How? When? And what would this new church look like?

If God decided to suck the brains out of people, would it "be good" because everything God does is good?

Most people eventually put two and two together, when they ask if I'm married, living with someone, or dating, and I answer NO, NO, NO. They find it strange that someone can be celibate for more than a few months or a year in the 21st century, so they will ask "what's wrong"??? As if there must be a reason other than the fact you're trying to follow the example of Christ, and believe sex is reserved for marriage.

People react even more shocked when they learn you don't drink, smoke, get high, curse, ect. There is a "look" that comes over their face, that I can't quite explain in words. Someone told me today, that it was such "a waste of life".

So have you all noticed the same thing? Even if you're not Christian, but live a similar lifestyle for moral reasons. If so, do you continue to respond the same way, or try to avoid the questions? I am not ashamed to be a child of God, or ashamed to live as christlike as possible, so I personally feel a responsiblity to answer honestly.

many hindus have laughed, poked fun at etc at women in islam who they think are under the feet of men and need liberating...
well isnt it in hinduism alone that women fast FOR their men and women do `ashirvaar or pooja` or watever bascially it means women are the ones that call their husbands god or godlike...and worship their husbands
no other relgion asks women to do that its the men that may make it sounds like a particular religion does
can someone explain this

My bf and I left the relationship to pursue our relationship. We both used to attend the Global Christian Fellowship (GCF). We both felt that it was a cult.
Now I would like us to pursue another religion - Ecism. Just because it calls for celibacy my bf has decided to leave me and go back to the cult GCF. He accuses me of corrupting him because I was the first woman he went with and says that I have made him a sex addict and now wish to control him by withdrawing sexual pleasure.
How can I get him to see sense?

It is disappointing that most answers in the religion and political forums in Yahoo Answers are one-line opinionated answers with little by way of empirical argument or evidence to back them. This would imply that either people are not interested in backing their political and/or religious beliefs with logical argument or they do not know enough about their political and/or religious beliefs to do so. This is dangerous in that such a mentality is a breeding ground for those who will blindly follow religious and political leaders, as they have no foundation of knowledge from which to challenge leaders. This then leaves their leaders in a position of absolute power, and to borrow from an old adage, "Absolute power corrupts absolutely." One day these people will wake to a world in which they have irreversibly given all control to their political and religious leaders and have enslaved themselves by virtue of their own apathy and/or ignorance.
