many hindus have laughed, poked fun at etc at women in islam who they think are under the feet of men and need liberating...
well isnt it in hinduism alone that women fast FOR their men and women do `ashirvaar or pooja` or watever bascially it means women are the ones that call their husbands god or godlike...and worship their husbands
no other relgion asks women to do that its the men that may make it sounds like a particular religion does
can someone explain this

Actually, many religions ask women to be less than their husbands. It's because when religion was "thought up", men came up with all of it and they then believed women to be a lesser form of the same species.
You see it in nature as well. Typically, the male is the "breadwinner", if you will, and the female is the family caregiver. (Though, in some species, the role is reversed.) Animals do not do this because a book tells them to. They do it because they are naturally set to do so.
Also, in most religions in which the man is seen as the dominant partner, the women are not REQUIRED to be submissive, etc. They are ASKED to do so willingly because it will get them to heaven, they will achieve salvation, their husbands deserve it, they are the better half, etc. They are given reasons why they should, and punishments if they don't, and then they are asked to choose.

Hinduism gives 50% RIGHT to women--God has given one half His body to Goddess(Ardha Naari--Ardha=One Half--Naari=wife)
Acharya Sankara says in one verse of Soundarya Lahiri (in praise of the Supreme Goddess)-"I have been taught Lord(God) gave only the left half his body(Vaama Bhaagam) to you-but now I see you have taken away the right half(Dhakshina Bhaagam) also from the Lord"
Your information is totally wrong. Husbands have to daily pray for their wives' welfare (Pathnim Paathu may) and wives also pray for their husbands welfare.Acharya Sankara(THE Authority on Hindu Religion) says "It is wife's ear ring that gives long life to her husband(Even for GOD)""Thava Janani Thaadanga Mahima"-I think in Islam allows wife can be slightly even elder to husband-Hindu religion does not allow the wife to be elder to Husband at all--Elders can give blessings to youngsters and the other way round is Not allowed.So wifes can ask blessings from any elder including Husband.
