Assuming an atheist is correct and there is no god.
There is thought.
Thought can imagine a God.
If you can imagine it, it exists, otherwise we would be more powerful than any God we could create with our mind.

I've read that a lot of UK firms are banning the hanging of Christmas decorations and Christmas celebrations in general, in case they offend or upset ethnic monority staff.

This is in a country where we are constantly forced to celebrate our multicultural society - with annual 'Mela's' and festivals etc.

Just trying to guage public opinion from UK answerers - but if you have strong opinions please feel free to post them - wherever you're from.

In Jewett City, Connecticut there is a Baptist church whose chimes go off every hour followed by a song. An atheist from another town was driving through the borough when the chimes went off and then over it's P.A. system played "Onward Christian Soldiers".

The P.A. system is owned by the local town government and they let the church use it. The man is now bringing a suit to court to get them to separate church and state (ie: stop having the church use the P.A. system to play music which may be 'offensive' to some). And for the record, the church also plays "America The Beautiful & Somewhere Over The Rainbow."

Every year people lie to their small children about this red suited con-man called Santa. Why do we do it? Is he the god of Western Consumerism? occurred there. The reason why I ask is for years my intutition has kicked in when there has been unsafe places. My family and I always holidayed at this spot, this time around it was not the same and at the insistance of me and my sister we left. we found out there had been a double murder there a couple of weeks before. I went to this clinic to see a specialist and felt distincly uncomfortable so I left only to find that there had been a shooting just out side. I lived in this house and felt quite upset about the back room only to find there had been a fire and someone died. Do you have any experiences like that???????????Is it intutition?
