to get close to God you must know and accept that there is God and you must have a relationship with HIM. don't resist on reading the Bible because in the bible He is talking to you straight. and to meditate with it you can see Him and feel Him that he is alive. every minute of your life.

The rapture is a lie. The Bible is God's letter to us and prayer is our way of talking back to him. If you aren't even willing to be faithful in what is least, what makes you think you will be able to attain salvation??

Do you have belief in God? then alone you will be very near to Him.
God is with in you. You are very near and closed to Him. But you should aware that you are friendly with Him. Your action and thinking all will be in the notion that you are in need of God. First keep your mind clean. Then do some 'Sadhanas' i e some kind of service to human kind. Do read some religious books. There are many paths to reach the goal. The right one way you are to follow is in search by you. The great guru, the real teacher for whom you are in search with your soul will be reaching you in the appropriate time as and when required by you.

It all goes together. First you read the psalms every day. Then meditate, 20 minutes every day. Do it correctly. Have a spiritual adviser. Spend time in nature each day. Listen to the deep penetrating silence of God. He will come to you.

the only way i think that u can get close to your God is to talk to Him more each day.I am not a christian but i am a Pagan and do have my own Goddess of my pick.And the way i get close to Her is by talking to Her more and praying to Her more.not that i am trying to offend u by your own religion but we all have different beliefs.but that is how i get close to mine.is just pray and talk with Her more.

I got really close to God by having a constant faith in him....my husband spent over a year in the Army overseas and I found that faith got me closer to God than I already was....

Share ur feelings, thoughts and ur opinion with him, the good one and the bad one. He doesn't want u to fake and creat words.
Just be urself and speak to him, spend time with him
Notice that relation with God is from two part
U & Him
U speak then let God speak to u
don't come to God just to take something, come to God just to be with Him, He is important not what He gives

meditate.
get into a seperate part of you brain. once you are well practised in the art of meditation, you can go around inside your mind. You cannot hear anything that is happening outside of your head. You can find the room closest to god and he will speak to you.

look, you're gonna stumble, fall and feel distant sometimes, no matter what.
try to do God's work on earth by loving other people more and worrying about yourself less. the more you see and feel God use you, the closer you'll feel to Him. ask Him to use you. He won't turn you down.
