I am confused about this. I believe in the Bible, but this Noah's Ark story seems like it couldn't possibly be true! What about all the bugs? Did Noah keep them in glass jars or something? Wouldn't they have died?
How long would it take to find two of every species on earth? What about space for them to exercise? ...

I look NOT for cheap love spells, or things to make me instantly "successful", I'm just very interested in the topic, and I'm wondering if there are some good books about said topic. Thank you for your answers.

Most people with faith when cofronted with questions of gods existence will say ,"Yes his exitence can't be proved, but niether can you disprove his existence.".
Of course this is true, observation can only provide theories, not fact- we come up with a theory and untill it is disproven it remains "fact", the longer the theory goes unproven the more likely it is to be fact, and when discrepancies are noticed we can either modify the theory or come up with a new one that takes into account new knowledge.
Now here's the problem- if the "truth" as seen by religous people is based completely on faith and we should accept it as truth, there are all sorts of "facts" about the origin of the universe and life that we could take as fact even though no observations have been made to make them appear even remotely likely.
In light of this should we not throw away our established religions and construct a new view of our purpose in this life- one which promotes continuation and development

There are twin sisters that are 25 years old and they are addicted to heroine. They have been addicted since they were 16 and their mom said she knew that they were experimenting with marijuana and alcohol and didn't see a problem with it. Does this woman not know that marijuana is a gateway drug? I am sorry I am just venting. It makes me mad to know that parents don't take responsibility and do something about their children doing these things. If they were my kids then I would put them into a drug rehab the moment I knew they were smoking marijuana.

I want to see God right now.

Why are we going to church to praise him if we can never see him?

I want to do anything I can so I can see God right now.

Do you want to see God right now?

I will do anything, so I can see God right now.

I'm the kind of guy who likes to bring joy to people who are sad, Some people might say I'm a hero. I use the ultimate symbol of happiness, Jar Jar Binks. I wear an elaborate Jar Jar costume/mask while trying to help. I wanted to help some really depressed people, so I put on my costume and hung around the cemetary. A funeral started, it was for a man that died. His wife and family were there. I tried to cheer them up by doing Jar Jar dances, and yelling Jar Jar quotes at the top of my lungs. I stood next to the priest who was talking and screamed. I danced around, pulled up clumps of dirt and threw them, and made loud noises with my air horn. Some guy told me to get out of there but I didn't listen. I pulled out my toy light saber and started poking the corpse with it while singing Jar Jar songs. People started yelling at me and others were crying. Some people began to chase me but I ran around, screaming. Eventually, the dead guys brother punched me. Do you think I should sue him?

Ok i'm in a community college, i'm 19, so i'm an adult.

It's a group communications class, so we got into groups and we had to discuss something within 10 min. We finished in about 5. When we were done i opened up my cell phone (WHICH WAS ON VIBRATE) because I got a txt message. She saw me just open it for 5 seconds and i just needed to read it and she comes over and starts trying to tell me I need to have my cell phone turned off for class and that it's in the syllabys. I look it up and it says "to not distract others around you, please turn off all beepers and pagers." And what I was doing was distracting no one.

Also I was reading my notes in class while we were having a discussion because i needed to look up a word, she yells at me for not paying attention when I really was.

Also she says she penalizes your grade for being late, but doesn't say it on the syllabys. Isn't this contract infringment?

Is there anything I can do to go above her? She just snipes me, am I wrong here?

I've come to the realization that most Christians believe that because God is loving, He is focused on us completely, and that most Christians love Him because He loves them. Yet, this is why so many people get angry with God when things don't go their way. The truth is, God isn't focused on us, or in better words, His heart is not centered on us. We as Christians are called to have God-centered hearts, to glorify Him in everything we do. If God were to have a man-centered heart, then our hearts would be focused on a heart that's focused on us, and therefore we would have man-centered hearts as well. However, that's not what we're supposed to be focused on! So, this means that God has a God-centered heart, so that we could also be focused on Him. He wants us to love Him and glorify Him because He's God, not because He loves us. But God still loves us! It says in the Bible that we are most satsified when we glorfiy God, so by wanting us to glorify Him, He is truly loving us.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse University professor Arthur C. Brooks is about to become the darling of the religious right in America -- and it's making him nervous.

The child of academics, raised in a liberal household and educated in the liberal arts, Brooks has written a book that concludes religious conservatives donate far more money than secular liberals to all sorts of charitable activities, irrespective of income.

In the book, he cites extensive data analysis to demonstrate that values advocated by conservatives -- from church attendance and two-parent families to the Protestant work ethic and a distaste for government-funded social services -- make conservatives more generous than liberals.

The book, titled "Who Really Cares: The Surprising Truth About Compassionate Conservatism" (Basic Books, $26), is due for release Nov. 24.

When it comes to helping the needy, Brooks writes: "For too long, liberals have been claiming they are the most virtuous members of America"
