In the beginning it was coz they were no match for them and coz they worshipped "pagan deities".
But christianity kinda adopted some of it's practices.Constantine used christianity for political reasons.So "some christians" that didn't like Constantine's influence in christianity were killed and called heretics,apostates!

The Romans made Christians and Jews slaves and/or gladiators. Why would they adopt something that had enslaved their peoples for years? Not only that, but the Romans worshiped more that one god, which is obvious. Their government was run by the rich and the corrupt and they stole many things from the Greeks. To adopt such an empire's ways would be foolish.

What Roman way are you talking about not the lustful orgies or the way that the Romans went first to kill the Christian like Saul did before he became the Apostle Paul or the way they killed the Jews. Jesus is the way.
