Salaam alaikum

I am trying to understand islam(was raised christian but don't believ in most of its doctrine).

Is the salat positions for men and women the same?If not how do they differ?Also can you guide me to a site that gives me pictures of the different positions.

Why do the books and writtings so many people hang thier faith on not even mention the 100 million years that dinosaurs ruled the earth . Maybe , just maybe the people putting these words of god down in print really didn't do anything more than compile a group of stories together they heard at the campfire and called it important .

The whole story is, my small family has pretty much doubled in the last year. My parents, brother and I have always probably gone way overboard for Christmas, but now my brother has a small daughter and is dating a girl with three daughters, so there are five more people to buy for. I can't afford to do it as I always have and I'm sure money is tight for the rest of my family as well. So, I was trying to think of good ideas to still exchange gifts but not go so crazy at it. I need ideas!
I was thinking about still buying for the kids but for the adults suggesting a Secret Santa type exchange. Could anyone share the rules of that with me? I'd like to bring it up and organise it on Thanksgiving if possible so I need the info fast! Also, my bro's girlfriend's oldest is 14...should she be a "kid" or "adult"? The other girls are all under 8 but I'm wondering if the 14 yr old would like a more adult type gift. So any info on how a successful Secret Santa works or other gift exchange ideas?

they stand a cat in hells chance of going to heaven/paradise.

We had a sucide in the family, we know that his bible was open to pslams, now for the strange part, the alarm on his phone keeps going off @ 06.30 a.m. (phone is powered off). We've got a huge collection ( Hundreds of the real deal stuff! ) of occult books I'm interested in selling too and I said we should just let them go for five or ten dollars each ( Some of these books cost hundreds of dollars. ) but She'd like to donate them to a library. I wonder if they would take them, after all I wouldn't want little kids to know how to bend time and shift space; plus all that other stuff! What do You think good People, sell them or donate them?

You have the typical scenario of the guy who says he's wasting his life on alcohol. He "turns his life to Christ" and through a "miracle" he stops drinking and gets better, or so he claims, yet god is turning a blind eye on poor suzy in etheopia (and lets assume she's Christian) dying from hunger and/or aids? Why would god make a miracle for some drunkard that with some half rate treatment and self control might have gotten better and not for poor suzy that has no options available to her?
