Im an agnostic, I dont think you can prove an afterlife till you are there. So yes, I live as if this is it and I think that is a much better way to live. Life is precious. It does make me sad that one day I will have to leave my children and one day they will also cease to exist, but that just makes my time with them more special.
If everyone believed this though, you would be unlikely to get suicide bombers, as the selfish idiots do it thinking they will be rewarded, or people who waste their time sitting in church or various other pastimes designed to prep for the end of their life. I feel sad when I see people waste so much time praying, but some people need to feel they have something to go onto, and if that helps them meet their end without fear, i suppose thats good.

So why live your life as though it were a dress rehersal?. So what if there is no main event, life is for living, whether there be an afterlife or not. Could it be that you may be thinking on the lines of "if you are bad you will go to hell" line?.....anyway.to cut it short......i personally dont know Zest and Intensity!.lol.but it wouldn't change things for me anyways.... :)

No. The whole basis of my life would be shattered. I live with zest and intensity now through faith in Jesus Christ. I accept His promise that I shall be with Him for ever. To remove that joy and confidence would be to remove everything worth living for.

Being certain would mean for me dying right now, and finding out there is nothing afterwards, then coming back to life. I don't know if I would lose my zest, I would be down, for sure.

I don't think I could have lived anymore zestfully than I did in my teens and 20's. I enjoy life to the fullest and still believe in an afterlife.

Honestly, no. If I had nothing to look forward to at the end of my life, I don't think I'd live it with zeal. I"d be pretty bummed. Looking forward to seeing my loved ones in heaven (or purgatory) lets me know that there is something far more wonderful then this. This is nice, but there is something better waiting for me.

No, because then what is the purpose. No one can experience everything they want in this short appointed time we have and without eternity what is the purpose of life?

I -am- intense.
And there is -no- afterlife.

In an abstract way, that should answer your question.
