We've got a huge collection ( Hundreds of the real deal stuff! ) of occult books I'm interested in selling too and I said we should just let them go for five or ten dollars each ( Some of these books cost hundreds of dollars. ) but She'd like to donate them to a library. I wonder if they would take them, after all I wouldn't want little kids to know how to bend time and shift space; plus all that other stuff! What do You think good People, sell them or donate them?

The books, I would sell .
The library may censor your books or just thank you and when you leave - just throw them away.
It is better that they go where they are wanted.
Now about the Tarot readings ,People at Flea Markets are basically cheap ,You will have to barter the price also .
Good luck

Interesting question. I think some of it depends on the setting you are in. At a "rennissance fair" you might bring in $15 or even $20 (the witch stores in Salem charge $25 a reading), but at a flea market I would definitely go for volume. You want people to do this for a lark. I would put up a sign that said "TAROT READINGS ONLY $10. YOU ASK THE QUESTION. THE CARDS SUGGEST THE ANSWER."

As for your books, make three piles: Donate, Sell, Keep. I would never just toss away a $100, so why toss away a valuable book? Either keep it, or, sell it on eBay, or contact a rare book store.

Fifteen dollars sounds more then fair for a card reading. Some people charge 20.00 and up.
About the books: I would call different library's to see if they accept that kind of reading material, if they do, donate them. If you choose not to donate them, sell them on a website that deals with the occult. That way you are advertising them for sale to a market that wants and needs them.

I guess that is up to you. Do you think your reading talent is worth $15. I know one person that charges $30 and everyone says it is well worth it. I have heard of others that don't know how to read to save themselves.

With the books it is harder to say, I know a few libraries that have the books but they are considered references and not allowed to be checked out. If you want them to get some good use what you could also do is donate them to members of the military overseas. I know our circle took up a collection of books and other items to send to the troops in Iraq as none of that is available over there and this allows them to follow in the traditions. If you are interested in going this route please email me and I will see if I can get the information to you on where and how to send the items

I have been reading and teaching Tarot for nearly 30 years & I might be interested in some of those titles. Would you mind emailing them to me via my Avatar? Do you have tarot decks for sale as well? Also, 15$ for a read is reasonable, but if the read goes on for an hour or more, well, an additional fee is not unheard of. I never set a rate, but ask only for recompense of my time. This has served me very well over the years. Would you mind emailing them to me via my Avatar? Do you have tarot decks for sale as well?
Thanks!

eh $15 for tarot readings seems a little steep... especially since you can get your own deck and a decent book that at least introduces you to the practice for about $25. and as for the books, i would say just sell them for just a couple of dollars.. so it's like donating them, but you make a little money for lunch or something. but wait... you're selling books that cost hundreds of dollars?!? WHY?!?!

I think 15 dollars is fair. I paid 20 dollars for an old lady to read my cards. But if you notice that not too many folks are stopping by your booth maybe you should drop the price to 10 bucks. Good luck!

A bargain, being that I've seen readers do them for $40-60 a pop. And you're at a flea market, so definitely mark'em down. Otherwise you can always try floating them on E-Bay, and let the best bid win.

If you donate them to a library they will just put them out at a book sale for 25 cents each.

I think you will get more takers at $10.

Love and blessings Don

$15?! Man, learn to do it yourself It's not that hard. Also, it's just more convenient and efficient to have your own deck anyway. Go to a bookstore or magick shop and feel around for the deck you're most comfortable with and learn how to do your own readings. If your gf's into getting a reading, she'll most likely be into learning how to do it with you. You'll bond more and all that. Plus, a lot of readers are just lying to get your dough. "Ummmm... This card means you'll be rich. And hung. And when you're ready, you won't have to dodge bullets." Right.
