The definition of an atheist is:
"A person who does not believe in god"
So tell me Christians do you believe in Zeus? Odin? Thor, Ra, Jupiter, Poseidon, Mercury, etc?
If not that makes you an atheist when it comes to these gods now doesn't it? Now out of the hundreds of gods you are atheists about...if you were to drop just one more god (Jehovah) you would be a total atheist. You are actually 99% atheists aren't you?

Hi, I will give some backgrouns first.
The book says: It was me the embassy official called, not Salma, to say that she'd be staying home. She and almost all the other students. Months before, they had taken the TOEFL exam. Now the scores were back, and they weren't good. Only one student had passed. But what about the intensive English-language program in America? That hadn't worked out.....
"SHE'S GOT NOTHING IN WRITING,"
HE SAID."WE NEVER GAVE THEM ANYTHING IN WRITING."
I have problems with the last sentence.
Does that mean she got 0 score in writing in the TOEFL exam? And why did he say "we never gave them anything in writing."
This paragraph is about a group of Afghan college students applying to study in US .
Please explain. Thanks in advance.

What kind of life would it be if we had choices to make? Oh wait a minute we do, but then those choices are influenced by evil, and then there is god who controls us like puppets? Come on god dosent care how many times we fall down, as long as we fall hard enough to know, not to fall that way again. So that we may evolve and be open to his divintiy? Is that scary to think we may have to take responsibility for our own actions without the punishment of a lake of fire
What do you think, just wondering.

Try to answer this question with a % sign!

In other words you may be 100% convinced there is NO Creator...then say 100% sure there is NO Creator.

Or you may believe that you are 100% Certain there is a Creator...then say I'm 100% Sure there is a Creator.

Or maybe your some where in the middle 50% sure there is etc...

I think this might be interesting...

So tell me and I'll announce the results in 15 minutes.

Tell me your %

As most know, there has been a fair amount of controversy in the past few years over whether being gay, etc. is sinful or not, and on whether these people have chosen this path or if they were born with it. I would like to hear the opinions one these "issues" directly from gay, etc. people. Thanks!

I've just never been able to take things on faith alone, or even with faith as the primary reason. It seems to me that believing something to be true on faith is a justification for irrationality. And believing things to be true without referring to logic and evidence seems to me like a detachment from reality, and is a symptom of psychological disorders that often involve delusional thinking (Paranoid Schizophrenia or Erotomania for instance). I don't mean to say that religious people are crazy. I personally know many of them to be very sane, intelligent and highly functional members of society. But I just don't understand how one can have faith as the underpinning for their belief system and be OK with it.

I mean look at the world we live in today. Wars are going on around the world where people are killing each other. Gangs are killing each other, and don't get me started on hospitals and diseases. Honestly I see no reason for anyone to even think about killing any human or anything for that matter. I do understand we need to kill for food, but it's not like we are eating our own kind!
Can someone please give me a good answer to this may as well be unknown question?
