I am a Christian, and I'm concerned about the negative stereotypes people hold in their minds about us. Much like Democrats who hate Repulicans; all republicans are white, stodgy, boring men in their 50's who smoke cigars and listen to Rush Limbaugh, right? Republicans think Democrats are all vegetarian hippies who wear birkenstocks and tie-dye and read the Village Voice.

We hold these stereotypes in our minds, and often don't WANT to see past them, do we?

So let's hear it. I have my own negative impressions of Christians, but I want to hear everyone else's. What is it about Christians that turns you off? Personality, associations, beliefs, what is it? We're going to turn the other cheek here, so let it fly. We want to know how others see us so that we can be more approachable.

Reasons Why Being Gay Is Wrong

1) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.

2) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

3) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.

4) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.

5) Straight marriages will be less meaningful if gay marriages were allowed; the sanctity of Britney Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.

6) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more kids.

They tell people stories like 'Noahs ark' and the 'tower of babble' which make people not believe in christanity. Those exact christians are the people who turn many away from their religon and towards the devil. So obviously those christians are either working for or influenced by the devil. agreed?

Really, there are a lot of them in L.A. In my history class a "vampire" gave his oral report on the histoy of vampirism (very good by the way, smart guy) .He concluded his report with a toast to all vampires everywhere. He then proceeded to pull out an ornate golblet from a black velvet bag. He placed it on the table, then pulled out a silver flask. He pours the contents of the flask, yes it's blood, into the goblet and takes a swig. He explians that it is real blood, given by donors who support vampire clubs. My teacher, surprisingly, does not seem shocked, instead he says" the funny thing is, you are actually the second guy to do this in my class." My teacher is real young too!

(while your focus on your food, then a jerk would pop a question or ask you some personal or job related matter, then after hearing there inquiry you give them a decent answer, but while your explaining, the person starts to pretend that he/she's not hearing you at all--as if you dont exist!)

Apart from an alleged gender bias in second language learning.. I wonder how & why some folks seem to learn another language easily; some find it difficult ,& some simply fail. Any ideas why? Thanks

My sister is in a messy custody battle with her exhusband over her 8 yearold daughter. He is very abusive and a sick twisted person, who uses their daughter to get back at my sister. The father has visiting rights, but, the courts won't listen to the theripist or the school or any witnesses that the child seeing her father is a bad idea. She has behavior problems over it and she doesn't want to see her father. Her father is a homosexual that lives with a lover and the courts are using gay rights for him to visit his daughter. My sister is trying to get his rights terminated, plus, she doesn't want her daughter to be corrupted and confused about relationships. The point is should the courts use gay rights for him to have visitation? is there such thing as gay rights? especially, when people voted against gays to marry. Also, for some odd reason they agreed that he doesn't have to pay child support anymore, because, he douesn't want to. What should my sister do? Is this right?

1. Its easy to rely on another person (a girlfriend or a wife) instead of God to meet our deepest needs, why do you think most of us struggle with this idea?

Likewise, I have occasionally followed cars with the bumper sticker: "In case of Rapture, this car unoccupied."

Should I avoid these people in traffic - for my own safety?

Look at all the problems that having "free will" caused in this world so far! Plus the things currently in the works and those yet to come, all caused and will be caused by the human race using "free will." What's your opinion?

Like I've heard people call those who don't dance at partys, neat people, people who don't drink alcohol etc. Just wondering what you all though

I've noticed that most atheist never ask intelligent questions but try to put down intelligence, why is that?

I've always learned from intelligence even if it is different from my own thoughts because it causes me to think even more so.

But I've come to think ignorance is a learning disorder because they can't seem to grasp the basic concepts of learning, but I could be making an excuse for their laziness.

hear me out first. How many planks of wood could you make in one day (by first cutting down a tree and cutting it into planks without tools) ... maybe 3-4 planks a day right? Noahs ark would probably need 300,000 planks of wood. Thats 275 years just in cutting and collecting wood. Building the boat would require engineering and would take at least 250 years. Then collecting animals and their food supply covering every continent would take another 250 years. Unless Noah was 1000 years old when he died, with the genetic make up of steve irwin and paul bunyon, it is not possible. How can you believe this story.

p.s. noah's arc or ark. Is there a correct way to spell bull$hit?
