Humans did some amazing things during that time, I'd think building a simple wooden boat would be easy.
I wish humans were still capable of building the structures they once build, what happened to us.

the Bible states that Noah was 600 years old when the flood came. It could have taken him hundreds of years to build the ark but we don't really know. The other main factor is that God gave some people special knowledge about certain things. For example when King Solomon had the first temple built there were certain craftsman who were gifted in metal or bronze working. There were gifted singers and musical instrument makers. There is also a mention of such gifted workers before Noah if my memory is correct. I saw a 9 year old girl on late night TV who had been drawing since she was 6. Her drawings are fantastic and she never had a lesson in her life. Some talent is a gift for some people even today. There is evidence that ancient civilizations had advanced technology. The ancient Egyptians had electric batteries and there is a hammer found near London, Texas which was built with a combination of alloys that no one can make to this day. It is apparent that past technologies have died out with the craftsmen who used them to some extent.
"diamond d" gave you some great examples of that.

Back in the days of Noah, people lived to be over 900 years old. You can read about Adam's descendants ages in the book of Genesis chapter 5. The reason people grew so old was because there was a canopy of water surrounding the earth before the flood. It never rained. Gen 2:6 Water came up out of the ground and watered all the land.
Because this canopy of water was surrounding the earth, the oxegen was much purer and everything grew bigger then, people included.
Gen 6:4 In those days and even afterwards, giants lived on the earth, for whenever the sons of God had intercourse with human women, they gave birth to children who became the heroes mentioned in the legends of old.
It makes sense then, considering Noah and his three sons giant size how much more powerful they would be than men today. They wouldn't need power tools. They also would be able to travel a lot faster because of their size to collect the animals.
I believe that when God gives us an assignment that he will equip us with what we need to do it. The same was true for Noah and his family.

If you ask religious zealots who take their scripture seriously, then they shall claim that it was only with the might of God's power, and I believe that yes, the Bible somewhere states that Noah and all of our other distant ancestors did live an extraordinary long life, of 1000 years or thereabouts. Generally people of this view are prone to other, more ridiculous ideas as well, suhc as the earth being 10000 years old.
Someone with a more rational opinion on such stories, of which I am a part of, will be most likely to say that it is only a story, perhaps with a grain of truth, but not to be taken literally. Its importance is in its message, not in its material accuracy.
Closed-minded bungholes like you will fail to realize any value that religion has had over the course of history because they cannot accept any other system of belief. Thank you very much.

Go back and read God's Awesome word - Noah was not the only one who put his sweat into building the Ark LOL!!!! The man folks who drowned and his family clubbed in as well. Read the story carefully, Rather go to the Book of John in the New Testament and See the Love that Jesus has for you it is so awesome. You really want to be sceptical. Think of this - Who elso knows the exact amount of hairs on you head at any given time, now think further who knows the amount of hairs on each of your family's heads as you can now doubt further who knows the amount of hairs at any given time on the heads of all the folks in the world and even knows which follical the hairs are falling out of and which hairs are growing - Yes You probably Guessed correctly it is The Awesome Three in One God.
Now what was that question?

There is more to belief than taking text literally. I'm mean seriously, did God do so much in 6 days? What's a day to God?
Did Noah build the ark? Instead of tearing apart the ancient story tellers ...what lesson is the story trying to tell you?

The Ark was actually 625 feet long, 104 feet wide, 62 feet in height and weighed 9 million lbs.
6:15 And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.

Read up on Stonehenge. The rocks were SOLID, weighing more than any person could carry, and they were brought a great distance from where they were. Easter Island. Egyptian pyraminds, Roman buildings, you name it. Marvels to testify to the capability of man stand today, so why is Noahs Ark so hard for you to believe?

Can't argue with that kind of logic. It always sounded like an impossible thing to do. I guess it all boils down to a thing called faith, and with faith the amount of a musturd seed you can move mountains. I wonder about the validity of alot of the stories in the bible. But the parts about the life and times of Jesus are pretty amazing.
