(while your focus on your food, then a jerk would pop a question or ask you some personal or job related matter, then after hearing there inquiry you give them a decent answer, but while your explaining, the person starts to pretend that he/she's not hearing you at all--as if you dont exist!)

If this happens to you often, i would seriously consider not talking so much. Give quick simple answers. If this isn't a recurring problem then say stupid and crazy things, finish your meal and leave. Pretend you are laughing at that rude jerk.

Pretty tough to handle. I always try to answer in a way that puts a stop to it, but not in a way that "bashes" the person.

For instance, if someone asks me how old I am, I say "Not as old as my mother."

If someone asks me who I'm going to vote for, I say "For the person who's going to win, I hope."
