refer to themselves as 'African Americans', placing their ancestry ahead of their place of birth? Whereas the Jews born in Germany for example, refer to themselves as 'German Jews' (place of birth ahead of ancestry). Are they not proud of their place of birth?

I'll be heading down to Bridgewood in Ipswich this evening with my wife to go dogging. She's really up for it, and I just can't manage it anymore as I'm getting a bit old nowadays. I'll be heading down there around 9pm.

If anyone fancies coming down to give me a helping hand, or maybe take some pictures, please feel free.
I'll be in the big black BMW estate, but if you want us to meet at your car, just give me a ring on 01473 712672 to pass on your vehicle details.

Alternatively, if you fancy a bit of a social drink beforehand, and a chance to get to know the wife and myself (and maybe more), drop round to 12 Beatty Road, Ipswich around 8-pm.

See you all tonight you dirty little monkeys.

The Good news is:
I have been searching for a spokesman for the pro life movement that can supply even one verse in the Bible that says abortion is wrong. And not one person can give a verse that states abortion is killing, death, wrong, a sin, or any other term to support the pro life agenda. There have been numerous examples of people backing each other up without any evidence. But there has been no proof that what they believe is supported by God.
Of course the good news for Christians is bad news for the believers in pro life. The pro life movement must now change or be seen as unreasonable or non-christian. However, the same logic that leads God to abort also leads a reasonable person to abort. Therefore, there is no support outside the Bible for the pro life movement. And that is the final bad news for their movement.

When one religion asks another a question about their's it usually ends up with name calling, slander, hate, how wrong you are attitudes. Is this not part of the reason why we don't choose a religion? They have they audacity to question why we can't see 'god' while they are browbeating a Muslim, Christian, Jew or what have you. This kind of makes me sad that people would treat each other this way in the name of religion and it also reiterates the fact as to why I'm an Atheist. Sure, I might do my share of 'questioning the authority(god)' here but then I'm not going against my religious beliefs to do it. Any comments???

Why are Catholics in such denial over what has been an appalling record of sexual abuse of children by priests? Why does this never get discussed in an open forum in Catholic parishes? Why does the issue repeatedly get swept under the carpet?

I met a woman that is a few years younger than me a few weeks ago. She is super sweet, no husband, no children, lives by herself and is also disabled and kind of slow-witted( I do not mean that in a mean way) I like her very much, we are both Christians and during these last few weeks we both have been of great help to each other just emotionally. The problem is that she comes over EVERYDAY( she lives in my neighborhood). Not only once a day sometimes 3 or 4 times a day and she stays for FOREVER. If I do not answer the door purposely she will keep coming back and knocking until I do. I have 2 children and a husband and my husband is getting mad and I just want to tell her to not come over for a few days because, honestly, I need a break. She is lonely that is why she comes over and I could not stand to hurt her feelings. She has been hurt so much. So I feel like I can't do anything except just put up with her over at my house 24-7. What can I do?

Why do people frown on drinking alcohol early in the morning, sometimes I don't drink for the rest of the day. I like to use brandy to wash out my mouth in the morning instead of regular mouth wash because I think it has less chemicals and also less wasteful and better for enviroment since I can swallow it an not spit it out.

how do you deal with the lack of "miracles" in your life: no one to fall in love with, not getting the job you want but you're trying as much as you can, your "friend" is only with her boyfriend, your family life's not nice, etc...

I think religion is a 'Don't Ask Don't Tell' kind of thing - No-one actually *believes* that any gods exist, they all just say they do because of tradition and social conformity, when in reality we all know it's just fictional nonsense. So, I propose that we set a date where all religious people can 'come out' and candidly agree with each other that it's a load of tosh, and move on to a more rational worldview. This would be a great advance for human civilisation. We could all get on with making the best of what is the only life we will ever have, and therefore the only life that matters. All the evidence shows that the less religious that people are, the more peaceful and enlightened and free and egalitarian the society is. Recognising that we're on our own, and that we're all basically the same, and that the future is entirely in our hands, I think we would all be that much more considerate to each other.

How about it?
