Because the purpose of life is personal growth. And growth is impossible without both choices and consequences. And if choice is to have any value, the choices must be meaningful and not trivial. That's why we have good and evil.

Actually, I think we're too stupid to make the right decisions, but what good is life without any choice? Maybe He wants to weed out the weak souled who refuse to try to do the right thing, because its not easy doing the right thing. Wrong is usually much easier, so those who consistently try to do right despite the obstacles would be of greater value. Physical strength means nothing in the long run, a strong soul is what is important. I mean really, would God want a bunch of weak willed souls fouling up heaven?

Life is a learning experience. No matter what you do, there is a consequence for that action!! Man was given free run of the earth to do what he chose to do. Man hasn't done a very good job yet, has he? Anyhow, that choice he has given to us was whether or not we wanted to be good or evil. If you choose to do "good", you will be rewarded the gift of eternal life. If you choose to do "evil", you will be rewarded with eternal damnation. I guess at this point, it's your choice! I hope it's the right one.
