You are severely misinformed. Humanists do NOT believe that they can become gods. Humanism is a way of life that is based on respect and care for your fellow man. It rejects the idea of god making humanists atheists as well. Atheism is simply a term to describe someone who doesn't believe in a god or gods.
Humanism is about working together as a society without religious boundaries for the good of all men.

They're not always the same thing, but it does appear the majority are Atheists. Neither one incorporate a Deity, but that doesn't mean one can't be a Humanist and still believe in a Deity. A Humanist is one who has concern for Human welfare, values, etc. in the very basic definition of the word. Most Atheists have this attitude as well, but I don't consider the 2 the same.

Humanist believe in rational, dignified ability to see good, right from wrong, as human nature. They look for meaning and truth through humanism, self determinated to succeed. They transcend religious faith, advocating universal morality and ethical philosophy. They don't say they are gods...but they say the buck stops here.
Atheist believe there are no gods. They can be humanist, animalist, naturalist. Atheism is almost a religion in itself. A dedicated atheist can protest and march as loudly as any faith will. Some are completely dependant on science and self for validation....humanistic qualities. While others can lean towards other odd beliefs.

Well there is a new theory that states that Humans could have created the universe - or big bang, and sacrificed themselves doing it, and we are the result of this man made big bang.
Man creates Big Bang...millions of years later we arrive.
If we (man) are able to create a big bang in our future, (we could have a billion years left) then this theory - is the only genuine possibility.
