My husband wont allow our son to treak or treat or dress up. He says it is satanic and paganistic. I don't want to "celebrate" halloween, but I don't want my son to miss out on the fun with his peers.

I was raised by an athiest. So I didn't grow up in church. And I do not know much about the bible. So I would like to know what other people believe about this subject. I was talking to someone about dinosaurs the other day and he freaked out telling me that Earth was not around 64 million years ago. The way he freaked out was as if he had not ever heard of it. He didn't even know Yellowstone is a volcano. Well, then he told me that "the bible says Earth has been around for 15,000 years." I have never heard this. And I am not denying that it implies it or anything. But I would like to know what other people think?
Also. Wasn't it around the period of Christ that our concept of time that we know today was created by the Romans? I am probably wrong about that. But I would like to know. So if that were true, then couldn't it be possible that time before that would mean that a day to us could be several before then? I hope that makes sense.

I ask this because I hear people say that I have cauacasian features when I don't have a ounce of White blood. I am Nigerian and many people in Africa have a variety of facial features.

To believers (of any religion) :could you give me your idea about this spritual poem of Rumi? beloved here referes to God

One Whisper of the Beloved

Lovers share a sacred decree –
to seek the Beloved.
They roll head over heels,
rushing toward the Beautiful One
like a torrent of water

In truth, everyone is a shadow of the Beloved –
Our seeking is His seeking,
Our words are His words.

At times we flow toward the Beloved
like a dancing stream.
At times we are still water
held in His pitcher.
At times we boil in a pot
turning to vapor –
that is the job of the Beloved.

He breathes into my ear
until my soul
takes on His fragrance.
He is the soul of my soul –
How can I escape?
But why would any soul in this world
want to escape from the Beloved?

He will melt your pride
making you thin as a strand of hair,
Yet do not trade, even for both worlds,
One strand of His hair.

We search for Him here and there
while looking right at Him.
Sitting by His side we ask,
"O Beloved, where is the Beloved?"

Enough with such questions! –
Let silence take you to the core of life.

All your talk is worthless
When compared to one whisper
of the Beloved.

What are some effective ways to charge a sigil? I have been using some methods like going into a trance state or orgasm to obtain gnosis but need faster methods. (You can only orgasm so many times and to go into a trance takes allot of effort). Any tips?

This is not a question for non-believers of magick or the ANTI-Witch. This is a question for witches, sorcerers and Chaotes.

Do you wonder what life holds for you? There is, it seems, a lot to worry about. Will I be completely abandoned? Will I beat this thing? How bad will my situation get? Am I going to die? And what will happen after I die? Facing the unknown is always difficult-and often terrifying. But if you are closely connected to God, you can see beyond your situation today. You can know for sure what you future holds. Trust Jesus. He died and went through hell to pay for our mistakes and give us back the life we keep throwing away. He took the sting out of death and the fear out of the future. You can trust Him. And when you put your tomorrows on Him, He'll give you the strength you need to face anything today.

While waiting at the busstop the past weeks I have came accross two guys that have started talking to me and they both were kinda hitting on me asking if I'm single and all. I told them that I already had someone although I don't because I am definetly not interested in either of them , one is kinda chubby, has alot of kids, and drinks and stuff and not my type at all, don't think he works either, the other is an odd older guy who tells me about all the medicines he is taking and coughs alot. I dont mind chatting with them in a friendly matter but I feel uncomfortable running into them every now and then on the bus or at the stop. You never know how a stranger is going to react when you turn them down and especially when they know where you live (the general area) so I don't want to be mean or provoke them to think I'm stuck up but I just really am not looking to be picked up on the bus. I have to ride the bus everyday, no way around it.

We have both talked about non-denominational wedding. My mother, the Catholic, does not see this as a "real wedding". Their is also concern about how our children will be raised. We both feel strong enough in our respective relgions that we want some basis to raise our kids.

What do I do so that my mother can ac cept this "mixed" marriage so to speak and my kids develop a similar appreciation for having 'a' belief in something?

Well, yes, my grandmother was a little odd, and sometimes she made these things up, but is it bad luck to have an unburned candle in the house, or just bad ettiquette, or bad decorating? She would never put a candle out without first blackening the tip of it by lighting it. Is this a superstition? Anyone else ever hear of this?

13. The letters were taken by messengers to every part of the kingdom, and this is what was said in the letters:

On the thirteenth day of Adar, the twelfth month, all Jewish men, women, and children are to be killed. And their property is to be taken.

Esther 3:13

These letters all said that on the 13th day you would be dead. That sounds unlucky to me. The book of Esther is four pages. Sound plausible that is how we got Friday the 13th???

I had a pretty good morning. Ran into some people I knew on the us and went a few places but got home rather early (around 2 pm) and have been in ever since. I can't go out alone after dark and have no one to go anywhere with. Have lotsa work friends and so on but we don't call each other or take numbers, so I haven't anyone to call and my mom isn't home or she isnl't answering the phone. I'm so bored. I'll be in till I go to work tomorrow afternoon. I can't sleep because I slept this afternoon for a couple hours (took medicine for my illness) and now I'm wired but bored. It seems like I'm the only one who is. Anyone else climbing the walls?
