While I doubt I can convince you, all but one of your premises are false. Christianity, like Judaism cannot be stopped. Many prominent scientists have been Christians (Newton etc.), and many Christians are involved in working within or teaching scientific fields. Our freedoms stem from the Magna Carta (drafted by Christians), and other Christian foundational documents that put forth the premise that all rights are given by God to the people; and not given by the state to the people as was formerly taught. America has been offering freedom to the world for over two hundred years as a result of Christian influence. You certainly aren't going to get freedom from other major religions. Look what freedoms are available where their religion is in th emajority. Don't take my word for it. Start studying history.

Hey, I got a little nugget for you to chew on! who wrote the Constitution?...(hint begins with a C) and the constitution is full of what ? hum could that be Civil rights? got another question for you who said Christians hate science? I don't hate freedom of speech..I would LOVE to have it.. but every-time I talk about God someone tries to shut me up!!! they don't think I have these same rights... who's the hypocrite? I love that we have a freedom of religion..it means that no one can force me NOT to believe in God.. Seems like this is on the agenda to remove my free worship of God. Have you paid much attention to the world views lately? ..these very rights are being raped from all Americans...I agree that everyone has the right to choose their own life...does that mean that if I see your house burning down I shouldn't warn you in fear that you might be comfortable in your burning house? I never point out any-ones sins I am sure they are aware of them already. People are so blind that they honestly believe that we do not believe in the constitution , and the NWO is in the process of ripping it right out from underneath us, funny thing is you are all so blinded that you will keep handing them over one by one.

So one of the guys on here who answered your question does have a good point. Freedom of speech is a constitutional right, just as freedom of religion is, at least in the USA, Canada, Great Britain and certain parts of Europe. However, in the USA and Canad there is supposed to be a law about the separation of Church and State...which apparently has gone down the toilet. I am not Christian, Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox, etc. I don't believe that Jesus was divine, that 'God' was both man, divinity and holy spirit all at once...these ideas were all written by man, and therefore flawed by man. But I do think that some parts of the bible have a point. But the thing about catholics and christians and all of the people who follow the bible, and whose voice you want to silence, don't seem to realize is that there are many parts of the bible. If you're going to follow the word of the bible, follow all of it, not just your own selected bits and pieces of it. Anyone heard of "love thy neighbor" somewhere in there people have found "but only if they are straight, god-fearing and perfect in every way", and something about how "god made each of us perfect in our own reflections of himself" doesn't factor in when the person is gay, lesbian,or transgendered.
I'm getting off topic. The point is. Everyone has a right to be who they are, believe in what they choose, and say what they think. You can't silence ANYONE...but that also works both ways, listen up you christians out there, you want your voice, have it, but don't think you can silence others. You want your rights, have them, but don't attempt to take away the rights of others. FAIR GAME. Life isn't perfect. And taking away peoples right to marry whomsoever they wish isn't going to make anyone's life perfect. So why don't we all stop trying to impose our beliefs on others, and let people live their lives. It's not hurting anyone, so why try to stop it? Hmm? Just because a man in another country in a white robe and overly ornate hat says that something isn't right, doesn't mean that it's what you think, or what you believe. Make up your own minds. And maybe you should also think of how you would feel if the situation was reversed. How would you feel? What was that rule that was repeated half a million times in the 'holy book' ' the book of good news' 'the bible'? "Do unto others as you would have done unto you." Think about it. Kinda interesting isn't it?

I understand your anger and your concern - it is well placed. They are trying to silence those who believe in Constitutional freedoms so they can interpret those freedoms in their own narrow context. I object so strongly to this that I believe many of them fit the definition for attempting treason in favor of theocracy.
But here's the thing: I would never attempt to silence anyone in this country, that would bring me down to their level. That's a place I never wish to visit. Have hope, there are changes taking place already. Christians who are moderates are starting to speak out, tired of being labeled as fanatical nutjobs because of the ravings and rantings of fundies. We see it in this forum every day. History is comforting as well. McCarthyism had to be terrifying for Americans who cherished the true ideals of the Constitution. The witch hunt was eventually vanquished and it now stands as an embarrassing era in our history. Desegregation is another example. Southern Baptists marched right next to KKK members, featuring scripture next to racist jargon on their placards. These same people were also outraged by interracial marriage and shamelessly used scripture to support their racism. It took the USSC to shut them up.
I believe that the Constitution will hold and that there are millions of us who are on alert for those who threaten our true freedoms. Especially these days, when terrorism has given our President an excuse to blatantly disregard the boundaries of his own office. Our governmental and court systems have held up under much worse in the past, I believe they will continue to do so in the future.

You should be silenced. It is a damned lie, that Christians hate. Your propaganda is going to far. And as far as what should be done, I'll tell you what should be done. You need to mind your own business and take care of your own. I don't know what or if any religion you have, but you can Leave us alone. How in Heavens name are you gonna silence us ? Who do you think you are ?? Christians do not hate. But I can tell your full of hate. Love not Hate.!! You are the one starting this propaganda. Shame on You.

Why should you want to do that? You have odd ideas about Christians. Maybe some of them might be like that, but certainly NOT all. You are not being fair. But... you don't care, do you? What should be done? You should learn to live and let live. You should follow the Golden Rule. It is not just a Christian concept, you know.

You want to SILENCE Christians because you think we don't want to allow freedom of speech? Anyone but me see the irony in that?
I think you mean to ask - how can we strip all the rights of Christians because they dare to call your sin what it is - SIN.

Nobody should be silenced. I'm a Pagan and I'd go down fighting if I were silenced. Let's not be hypocrites--if they want to rant and rave about God, who cares?
