i am glad that I finally found someone who is as assaulted and sickened by people Cursing and using vulgar language. I feel as if i will vomit sometimes when I hear people using profanity. I feel as if I have been punched in the stomach when someone uses my Lords name in vain. and Rape is a very good description of the way I feel when people use 4 letter words.

A curse is more like wishing harm on another. Saying goddamni.t is not taking God's name in vain, as "god" is not a name but a title. Where it says you shouldn't take the name in vain, means to not make it empty or useless. Which leads to the idea many Jews have that people should not pronounce the actual name of God because of blasphemy... taking the name in vain/making it empty and useless. That's why the actual name, in Hebrew, was replaced almost 7,000 in the Old Test with "Lord God" usually in all caps.

What do feel is the difference between swearing and cursing? Please put an additional note for that.

But my answer is no for either for my views on both. They are just words. I minored in English and I see all words as a way of expression, even bad expression. Words are words to me, they are neither bad nor good.

That's not a bad question though, although some people probably will think so!

No. I know people who seem to react physically when somebody curses. They can be kind of annoying. People really don't mean to upset anybody else. It's just a very poignant way of getting a point across, that what they are saying is something they feel very strongly about. Maybe it's not right, but then who IS always right?

Hell is the name of a Place.
So what!
Damn is being out of the Presence of GOD.
So what! (you can't damn a car, stop light etc.)
GOD Created Feces.
So what!
GOD is NOT the Damner, so if you say GOD Damn a thing (can't be done) satan is the dammer.
GOD is the Redeemer.
The Truth will set you Free.
Sometimes words will Paint a Picture in your Mind that you really don't want to have in there, Like when your Eating.
We need to Learn what cussing and cursing Really Are.

No, not ill, but it grieves the Spirit of God within me. Once, my husband, who is a preacher, while in a restaurant with another preacher late in the evening, came across a table of drunks who started cursing. The other preacher yelled just as loudly...."Praise the Lord!... If you can curse Him, I can praise Him!" It was a shocking moment for them... and dead silence followed. Sobered them up quick! Sometimes we Christians need to be bolder!

The spirits don't mix. The person whondoes the cursing is the evil one.
