Kind of like built-in instinct?
Even people in the middle of nowhere, with no education system, and no access to churches or religious people to provide influence, ponder their origins, look to the stars and question if a God exists.

Of course, you could argue that our imaginations can think of many things that are not real; but with death...

Why do we question life after death, heaven etc?

We just die, that's it... right?
100% sure?
There is always that nagging bit in your head that says: "But what if... what if there's something after?"
Even the die-hard atheist couldn't tell you with absolute certainty that death is 100% the end.

How can it be that so many people question life and question the possibility of a creator, if it is not built within us to begin with?

Does having the capacity to question our very selves mean anything, or is it simply that we stick a label on the unknown for our own comfort?

Forexample, the creation narrative, Noah's deluge, a solid dome over the sky,Earth supported by a foundation. Why has the evangelical church produced "Creation Science" explanations that are complete nonsense? Why is it that none of the more rational reconciliations of science and the Bible survives scrutiny?
(The water poured through the "windows of heaven" to cause Noah's flood, and then presumably poured off the edge of the
disk-shaped earth into the abyss.)

Do you think that it is discrimination for an employer to terminate an employee for smoking cigarettes, after all people who smoke are human beings too. Just like if, someone were to get fired because of race or religion it is considered to be discriminatory (because they are human beings).

cults dont all drink poisoned kool-aid...maybe they drink small amounts of wine with some bread and call it a representation of some outlandish thing...maybe they chant and are made to kneel and stand by another man on a pulpit...maybe they believe in some invisible creator that was once alive many years ago....maybe they are taught from birth to belive these things...maybe thats how they brainwash people into believing in these things...is that what cults do to people?...is that how they bring others in and take their money, say 10% of thier income?...i assume they are made to meet in large gatherings at certain times on certain days and do certain things as well...what are your feelings about cults?

P.S. if u dont understand and agree with what i just wrote dont answer because i dont care what your going to say...im not interested in joining your cult

In the last thousands of years human brain has evolved by leaps and bounds and in just a few milleniums the man who was figuring out in the caves what fire was has reached to the moon.
Our fellow creatures like lions tigers etc have not evolved mentally by the same %.
Are there any scientific reasons why our intelligence has increased tremendously in such a short time or biological reasons?
Many scientist say that if Human race was to continue for a few more thousand years then our brain size will increase in physical terms because of evolutionary effects.

I am sick of all the gay bashing. I have read all the sources that talk about homosexuality being nature, not nurture. But I can't figure out how it can not be a sin according to the Bible. All the verses seem to point to yes, it is a sin (although I haven't found anything that says it is any worse than any other sin!). To those of you who do, how do you do it?

(Please don't give me "you can't!" or "the Bible is full of crap" kind of answers. I know very well you may not be able to, or that you may feel it is, but for those who do explain it away, I want to know how.)

This is a serious question, not a debate in the form of a question.

Let's continue the excerise of accepting the premise of the "religious right's" political movement, and see where it could lead us:

My religion believes that all human eggs are sacred and of course capable of life. To allow one to mature and die without being fertilized is thus an offense to my god.

Therefore, in order to avoid the slaughter of all of those LIVING CELLS, all women must have sex as soon as they begin menstruating. Women who do not have a male partner must either find one, or the government will assign you one.

It will be a crime for you to not attempt to get pregnant every month.

My religion is not trying to control your body, we're just looking out for the unborn, unfertilized LIVING CELLS which have the potential for life.

After all, you have the right to make decisions for yourself, but those eggs also have rights, and the government must look out for them

What do you think?
Should I be able to take over the reproductive decisions of women based on religion?

1. Where is the justice in punishing us for Adam's sin? The Bible itself says that children will not be punished for the parents' sins (Deuteronomy 24:16).Furthermore, if God really created Adam not knowing either good or evil (Genesis 3:22), how could such a harsh and enduring punishment as death for Adam and all his descendants possibly be just? Our secular courts are more just than God when they show mercy on people who cannot distinguish between right and wrong, such as children and the mentally handicapped. And why isn't this doctrine of original sin found anywhere in the Bible except in Paul's writings?
2. Where is the justice in punishing Jesus for our sins? If our courts of law were to accept the punishment of someone else in the place of the criminal, we would not say that justice has been done, but that injustice has been added to injustice. Would the church have me believe that two wrongs make a right?
If Grace still consider the only option for salvation, then this means the man-made law is far Just and Worthy than God's law. I am talking about accountability here.

Man's purpose is to worship God. If He made sure the Bible was accurate and performed miracles, why doesn't He use His powers to show these people the Bible? There are some people in the world who have never heard of Christianity.
