It seems that those who put themselves on the line by making truly controversial viewpoints are given the "thumbs down" most of the time, while the mind-numbing answers with little or no thought (and of which a Presidential candidate would be proud) are shot down without a second thought. I claim to be part of neither group, but I definitely respect the former over the latter. Are people rating these questions/answers really that much in favor of not rocking the boat?

Do the books, movies, television, music a person chooses influence their chosen belief or how deeply they believe?

I'm an Agnostic. I listen to a wide variety of music but I have a particular liking for groups such as Pink Floyd, Rush, Nine Inch Nails, Ozzy, Rob Zombie & Rage Against the Machine. I read all sorts of books but mostly non-fiction on the subjects of sociology, psychology, science, theology and history. As for television I watch very little unless its on Discovery or it is sports.

I do not feel as though what I choose affects my beliefs that deeply, some but not to the point of being the defining factor. What do you believe?

ive been going mad trying to figure out the bible.
i was baptist , holiness, was muslim for one week, was jahovias witness for three days, lastly mormon!!!
i was going nuts. now god has revealed that he is god, jesus is jesus.

i have some scriptures for you.
read these: john 17:1-26. plainly jesus speaks to another being..god the father ,john 15:1-7 (the vine & the branches) john 16:5 one who sent. must be two for one to send the other.
john 14:1-4 trust in god,trust in me also.(2) in my fathers house are many rooms.
now read john 14:9-14 gods spirit was in jesus but yet jesus was not god .
finally read revelations 14:12 ,revelations 7:10-17 salvation belongs to GOD who sits on the throne & and, and & .....TO THE LAMB...WHICH IS JESUS !!!
revelations 20:4-6really read all of this.

even to the end in revelations ,it continually says GOD , AND JESUS THE LAMB, keeps mentioning two. not one. even in heaven.

I often hear the phrase, "the white man is keeping us down". How is that so? Is it not the African American culture? Is it not the rap music that glorizes the, "thug life", or the fact that seventy percent of all children born to African Americans are out of wedlock? Is it not because that for blacks getting an education gets them the stigma of, "acting white"? Is it not because they don't have enough positive role modles?

Here in Birmingham we have one of the highest murder rates in the country, and it is black on black crime. Is that also the white man's fault?

Are not African Americans not to blame for their own problems?

I think Bill Cosby has a great message for his people, but most of them don't want to listen.

...We all know that these things are both theories to most of mankind, but, there has to be proof out there. I ask because of other things that have been explained, but ignored. Global warming, rising ocean level. Did you know that man was here before the rainforests of south america? It is proven that the world has warmed up then cooled down more than once. That volcanic eruptions and other naturally occuring phenomena cause more damage than mankinds pollution. Our we being 'Scared Straight'? (remember that flick?) It's worth the couple of points to get you to answer, so....have at it!

I've spent the last few months organising for my company to take part in a large corporate event. I've been writing press release, doing invitations, organising tote bags, seating etc. Now that the event is about to take place, I find that my boss wasn't even going to invite me along to the night.

He offered me tickets at the last second because another employee pulled out. I've done more to organise this event than anyone. Should I be offended that I was only offered someone else's secondhand tix, or am I just being a sook?

I'm not going by the way. Because I was only offered the tickets today, I'd already made plans for that night, so now I can't make it anyway!

For someone who brags about how great he is, why won't God stop children from being raped and sodomized? And don't give me this BS about free will. God could stop it if he wanted to but he doesn't.
